TR&A is a distributed team of experienced analysts monitoring, reporting on, and writing detections for state-sponsored and financially motivated threat actors.\nThis role involves both proactive monitoring and in-depth research into threat actor infrastructure, tools, and TTPs, as well as producing high-impact, actionable finished intelligence and detections. You will track new and evolving nation-state and cyber threats as they emerge, adapting focus as the threat landscape and our clients' priorities shift.\nWhat You’ll Do: \nConduct proactive hunting for threat actors by establishing methods to identify, signature, and validate malicious infrastructure;\nConduct technical research into nation-state and cybercriminal threat actors, dissecting their tools and TTPs to produce high-impact finished intelligence for clients and the Recorded Future public blog;\nRepresent Insikt Group as a subject matter expert through customer briefings, media engagements, and public research dissemination, focusing on malicious infrastructure and regional threat landscapes;\nCollaborate with geopolitical and regional analysis teams to support cross-functional research\nMentor and guide analysts within the team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, skill development, and professional growth, ensuring the team's collective expertise is continually advancing.\nContinuously improve and optimize threat intelligence processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the team's ability to detect and respond to emerging threats, and proactively identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.\nStay up to date on evolving Threat Actor tradecraft and the global malware landscape by monitoring technical publications, blogs, and trusted sharing communities.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nA passion for threat hunting and threat intelligence.\nDemonstrative understanding of malicious infrastructure detection to include C2s, botnets, etc., in the context of cybersecurity, pivoting, network defense, and business risk.\nAbility to leverage AI/LLMs to automate \"busy work\" and accelerate workflows while maintaining the rigorous human-in-the-loop required to ensure high-fidelity, verified intelligence.\nDemonstrable experience conducting technical threat analysis and research\nDemonstrable experience with structured analytical techniques, the intelligence cycle, and intelligence writing techniques and methodologies\nFluency in common CTI research and data analysis platforms/tools such as the Elastic Stack (ElasticSearch, Kibana), Maltego, Modat, Shodan, Censys, DomainTools, or other similar tools/datasets\nIn-depth understanding of TCP/IP and other networking protocols and network traffic analysis techniques\nExperience working directly with customers, with strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey complex technical and non-technical concepts\nPractical experience using common threat intelligence analysis models such as MITRE ATT&CK, the Diamond Model, and the Cyber Kill Chain\nExcellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to work with globally distributed team members\n2+ years of experience in Information Security and/or Threat Intelligence\nAbility to work from a Recorded Future office (Boston, MA or Arlington, VA) at least 3 days per week\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProficiency in a foreign language (Arabic, Turkish or Persian/Farsi) to support regional-specific research;\nMA/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field\nScripting capabilities (Python preferred)\nExperience writing network and/or endpoint signature detections using Suricata, Snort, YARA, SIGMA, etc.\nExperience with business risk analysis / communicating business risks to executives\nThe base salary range for this full-time position is $92,500 - $139,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The salary displayed reflects the range for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by state, work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401K.
