Rather than building new products, you will compare AI-generated frontend implementations against real-world reference websites and determine which implementation is more accurate, robust, and well-constructed.\nThis role is ideal for frontend or full-stack engineers with strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, browser DevTools, and web development fundamentals, including the ability to evaluate both how a page looks and how it is built.\nImportant: This project is evaluation-focused, not frontend authoring.\nWhat You'll Do\nRun a reference website and two AI-generated implementations locally.\n\nEvaluate each implementation at a 1920×1080 viewport and across required interactive states.\n\nCompare visual fidelity, including:\nLayout, spacing, and box model\n\nTypography and text styling\n\nColors, borders, and visual treatments\n\nImages and asset handling\n\nZ-index, overflow, and positioning\n\nInspect the underlying HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to assess implementation quality.\n\nIdentify whether an implementation genuinely recreates the interface or relies on shortcuts such as excessive hardcoding, inappropriate absolute positioning, or screenshot-based rendering.\n\nTest responsive behavior and identify layout defects at different viewport sizes.\n\nProvide specific, evidence-based explanations supporting every preference.\n\nDetermine whether a task is genuinely broken or simply difficult and should still be evaluated.\n\nRequirements\n3-8 years of professional web development experience, primarily in frontend or full-stack development.\n\nStrong command of HTML and CSS, including:\nSemantic HTML\n\nFlexbox\n\nCSS Grid\n\nMedia queries\n\nResponsive design\n\nLegacy float- and table-based layouts\n\nStrong understanding of browser rendering and frontend architecture.\n\nComfortable using Browser DevTools, including inspecting elements, computed styles, viewport dimensions, and interactive behavior.\n\nComfortable working from the command line, including extracting archives and running local development servers.\n\nWorking knowledge of JavaScript sufficient to read and understand DOM-manipulating scripts.\n\nAbility to evaluate both modern and legacy web interfaces.\n\nStrong written English and the ability to provide precise, evidence-based technical reasoning.\n\nAvailability for 2-3 hour contiguous work sessions, as each evaluation unit is timed.\n\nEquipment & Technical Setup\nYou will need:\nA desktop or laptop capable of displaying a 1920×1080 viewport.\n\nA real local development environment.\n\nAdministrator access to your computer to install and run a local server.\n\nAbility to download, extract, inspect, and run website source files locally.\n\nTablets, Chromebooks, or locked-down devices that cannot run a local static server are not suitable for this project.\nNice to Have\nPrevious AI evaluation, RLHF, preference labeling, or structured code-review experience.\n\nPixel-perfect design-to-code experience.\n\nAccessibility expertise, including ARIA, semantic landmarks, and heading hierarchy.\n\nFamiliarity with common LLM-generated coding errors.\n\nExperience with web scraping, website archiving, or DOM parsing.\n\nExperience working with messy or legacy website codebases.\n\nMultiple completed engagements on similar evaluation projects.\n\nImportant Project Eligibility\nThis opportunity is intended for practicing web developers with strong frontend skills.\nBackend-only, ML/data science-only, mobile-native, and DevOps-only backgrounds are not suitable for the role. Designers without coding experience and developers who have only worked within component libraries without hands-on CSS experience may also struggle with the evaluation requirements.\nPrior project experience: You must have completed at least one previous engagement with the platform in full.
