The work requires strong editorial judgment and the ability to distinguish between writing that sounds persuasive and content that is genuinely accurate, well-supported, relevant, and appropriate for its intended audience.\nNo previous AI experience is required.\nWhat You’ll Do\nEvaluate and compare multiple written responses to different writing prompts.\n\nAssess clarity, tone, usefulness, accuracy, and adherence to instructions.\n\nApply defined evaluation criteria consistently.\n\nAssign analytical quality scores and provide concise written rationales.\n\nIdentify persuasive or polished writing that contains inaccuracies, unsupported claims, or departures from the intended brief.\n\nDetect factual errors, logical inconsistencies, contradictions, and problems with internal coherence.\n\nAssess whether content is appropriate for its intended audience and purpose.\n\nReview writing against relevant editorial or style requirements.\n\nDocument evaluations accurately using digital content review platforms and project tools.\n\nCollaborate asynchronously with project managers and reviewers to maintain consistent evaluation standards.\n\nWork independently and complete assigned evaluations within project timelines.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nNative or near-native written English proficiency.\n\nA university degree completed at an institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.\n\nProfessional experience as a journalist, reporter, editor, copy editor, sub-editor, fact-checker, ghostwriter, published author, or related writing professional.\n\nStrong technical writing, content evaluation, critical analysis, and written communication skills.\n\nDemonstrated experience editing or fact-checking other people's work against style guides or editorial standards.\n\nExcellent attention to detail.\n\nStrong ability to assess writing for accuracy, clarity, coherence, and audience suitability.\n\nAbility to provide objective, well-reasoned written assessments.\n\nComfortable working independently in a remote environment.\n\nAbility to consistently deliver high-quality work within project deadlines.\n\nRelevant Experience\nRelevant professional backgrounds may include:\nJournalism\n\nReporting\n\nEditorial writing\n\nCopy editing\n\nSub-editing\n\nFact-checking\n\nTechnical writing\n\nContent editing\n\nInvestigative writing\n\nPublishing\n\nGhostwriting\n\nProfessional authorship\n\nEditorial quality assurance\n\nExperience with annotation, AI model evaluation, or digital content review platforms is helpful but not required.\nYour Editorial Judgment Matters\nThis role goes beyond checking grammar or whether a piece of writing sounds polished.\nYou’ll need to determine whether the content is actually accurate, supported, coherent, relevant, and faithful to the original instructions.\nStrong evaluation requires recognizing when persuasive language masks factual problems, unsupported claims, weak reasoning, or deviations from the intended brief.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nSuccessful contributors will produce clear, consistent evaluations that identify meaningful differences in writing quality.\nYour assessments should accurately identify factual and logical issues while recognizing strong writing, appropriate tone, clear reasoning, and effective communication.
