The work involves translating mathematical requirements into executable procedures, implementing equations and algorithms, testing special cases, and verifying mathematical and numerical correctness.\nKey Responsibilities\nSolve and validate advanced mathematical and computational problems.\n\nTranslate mathematical requirements into precise, executable workflows.\n\nImplement mathematical models, equations, and algorithms using Python and command-line tools.\n\nAutomate calculations, numerical experiments, parameter sweeps, and result validation.\n\nUse computational tools to visualize results and investigate mathematical behavior.\n\nTest edge cases and verify the accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility of solutions.\n\nReview mathematical tasks and assess whether results satisfy defined specifications.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nCandidates must meet one of the following educational and experience pathways:\nA master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computational Science, Theoretical Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field; or\n\nA bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field, plus at least 1-2 years of mathematics-focused professional or research experience at leading companies or institutions.\n\nAdditional requirements:\nStrong expertise in at least one mathematical discipline, such as applied mathematics, numerical analysis, optimization, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, algebra, geometry, mathematical modeling, or dynamical systems.\n\nPractical programming proficiency, particularly in Python.\n\nAbility to translate mathematical concepts into computational methods and validate numerical results.\n\nStrong analytical reasoning and attention to mathematical detail.\n\nRelevant Tools and Technologies\nExperience with Python libraries and computational mathematics tools may include:\nScientific computing: NumPy, SciPy, pandas\n\nSymbolic mathematics: SymPy, SageMath\n\nOptimization: CVXPY and related optimization libraries\n\nStatistics and modeling: statsmodels and domain-specific scientific packages\n\nVisualization and workflows: Matplotlib, Jupyter, GNU Octave, Julia, and command-line-accessible tools\n\nEquivalent tools are acceptable where they demonstrate relevant computational capability. No single library is mandatory.\nCompensation and Work Arrangement\nThe role offers $80-$120 per hour, with payment based on completed tasks that meet project specifications.
