Prior AI experience is not required; the focus is on your software engineering expertise.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDevelop, implement, and refine features within established open-source codebases.\n\nWork across languages such as Python, Java, Rust, C++, and TypeScript.\n\nInvestigate and resolve complex bugs while maintaining project standards and code quality.\n\nRefactor existing or legacy code to improve performance, readability, maintainability, and scalability.\n\nValidate code and solutions for correctness, consistency, reliability, and adherence to established development practices.\n\nApply algorithms and competitive programming techniques to solve complex engineering problems efficiently.\n\nReview proposed changes and collaborate remotely with other contributors.\n\nMaintain and improve technical documentation associated with implementations and changes.\n\nProduce clear technical write-ups explaining solution design, implementation decisions, and relevant trade-offs.\n\nRequirements\nExpert-level proficiency in at least two relevant programming languages, such as Python, C++, Java, Rust, TypeScript, Go, or C#.\n\nExtensive practical experience contributing to open-source software.\n\nDemonstrated experience with feature development, bug fixing, debugging, and codebase refactoring.\n\nStrong understanding of algorithms and complex programming problem-solving.\n\nAbility to analyze multifaceted technical requirements and identify effective solution approaches.\n\nStrong code review and validation skills with close attention to correctness, maintainability, and performance.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and remote collaboration.\n\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a distributed development environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nSignificant history of meaningful contributions to established open-source projects.\n\nExperience working with large or unfamiliar codebases.\n\nStrong competitive programming background.\n\nExperience optimizing software for performance, scalability, or resource efficiency.\n\nExperience working with multiple programming paradigms or technology stacks.\n\nDemonstrated ability to deliver well-documented, production-quality code within project timelines.\n\nWho Should Apply\nThis role is suited to software engineers who enjoy working inside existing codebases rather than only building new applications from scratch.
