This opportunity offers the chance to work across business and technology teams, support strategic priorities, and drive the adoption of governance practices that create business value.\nWhat is in it for you:\n\nSalaried: $90-95 per hour.\nIncorporated Business Rate: $109-114 per hour.\n12-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.\nFull-time position: 37.50 hours per week.\nHybrid: 3 days/week in Toronto office.\nResponsibilities:\n\nProduct strategy & Roadmap management\n\nDefine and execute vision, roadmap, priorities, and success measures for Data Governance capabilities.\nOwn backlog, feature prioritization, release planning, and delivery sequencing.\nPartner with business and engineering teams to translate requirements into actionable epics, features, and user stories.\nEvaluate new opportunities, business needs, and regulatory requirements to inform product direction.\nProgram & Agile delivery leadership\n\nLead end-to-end delivery of data governance initiatives, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies are managed effectively.\nCoordinate agile ceremonies and support execution across multiple workstreams and delivery teams.\nTrack progress, manage issues and escalations, and provide leadership reporting.\nCoordinate vendor and partner deliverables where applicable.\nData governance & Operating model leadership\n\nDrive implementation of data governance processes, controls, standards, and operating models.\nPartner with governance stakeholders to establish roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability.\nSupport governance initiatives related to metadata management, data quality, lineage, data access, data products, and data marketplace capabilities.\nEnsure alignment with regulatory, risk, compliance, privacy, and audit expectations.\nStakeholder engagement & Organizational change management\n\nBuild strong relationships across business, technology, risk, compliance, and executive stakeholder groups.\nLead stakeholder engagement, communications, and change management activities to support adoption.\nDevelop executive presentations, business cases, status updates, and leadership materials.\nFacilitate alignment and drive decision-making across complex stakeholder groups.\nAdoption, Training & Enablement\n\nLead onboarding and enablement for new team members and stakeholders.\nDevelop training materials, guidance, communications, and user adoption plans.\nSupport organizational readiness activities for new capabilities and processes.\nPromote adoption and continuous improvement of governance products and practices.\nMeasurement & Value realization\n\nDefine KPIs, success measures, and reporting mechanisms for governance products and initiatives.\nMonitor adoption, outcomes, risks, and business value realization.\nIdentify opportunities for optimization, process improvement, and increased business impact.\nSupport budget planning, forecasting, and benefit tracking activities.\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nExperience\n\nStrong experience in Data, Analytics, Governance, Risk, or Technology platforms.\nExperience leading agile delivery teams and managing enterprise technology implementations.\nExperience developing business cases, roadmaps, and operating models.\nTechnical & Professional skills\n\nStrong understanding of data governance concepts, including metadata, data quality, lineage, data access, privacy, and regulatory compliance.\nRequirements gathering expertise.\nUser story development experience.\nAgile methodology knowledge.\nBusiness technology knowledge.\nSoftware development knowledge.\nProduct management experience.\nFull stack development knowledge.\nBusiness analytics expertise.\nExperience using Atlassian JIRA.\nKnowledge of organizational effectiveness practices.\nProduct development experience.\nUnderstanding of technology strategies.\nSystems & Technologies\n\nExperience with Databricks Unity Catalog.\nExperience with Microsoft Azure.\nExperience with Informatica IDMC.\nExperience with Power BI.\nSoft skills\n\nExceptional stakeholder management skills.\nExceptional executive communication skills.\nStrong organizational capabilities.\nStrong problem-solving capabilities.\nStrong strategic thinking capabilities.\nAbility to work across business and technical teams while translating strategy into execution.\nWhy Recruit Action?\n\nRecruit Action (agency permit: AP-2504511) provides recruitment services through quality support and a personalized approach.
