This opportunity in the facilities management sector for our client will allow you to support the continuity of operations at a site located in Longueuil.\nWhat is in it for you:\n\nHourly salary of $35-39, depending on experience\nPermanent position within a dynamic team.\nRegular daytime hours in an on-site work environment.\nEnjoy 3 weeks of vacation, 2 floater days, 2 flexible personal days, and 6 sick days.\nBenefit from a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as an employer-matched RRSP program.\nResponsibilities:\n\nFacility operations\n\nOperate plant equipment and systems during scheduled work shifts.\nMonitor instrumentation, gauges, and computerized operating data.\nStart, stop, and adjust equipment manually or through computerized controls.\nRespond to alarms, inspect operating conditions, and report equipment failures.\nConduct inspection rounds and verify operating equipment.\nEnsure compliance with operating procedures and health, safety, and environmental standards.\nMaintenance and troubleshooting\n\nPerform scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment overhauls.\nUse hand and power tools to complete maintenance activities.\nIdentify, diagnose, and repair issues affecting the plant and distribution systems.\nDetermine required replacement parts and provide recommendations regarding procurement.\nProvide technical guidance to trades personnel in resolving equipment issues.\nAccompany contractors and other personnel performing work within the facilities.\nTechnical testing and monitoring\n\nPerform operational testing of diesel-powered generators.\nRecord test results and equipment status.\nConduct standardized water sample testing.\nAdjust chemical feed rates based on test results.\nDocumentation and reporting\n\nMaintain shift logbooks and operational records.\nRecord meter, gauge, and instrument readings.\nPerform calculations related to water, gas, and electricity consumption.\nPrepare reports concerning operational issues, deficiencies, and incidents.\nCommunicate information related to operations, operational changes, and new equipment.\nHealth and safety\n\nInvestigate situations that may affect the safety and security of facilities and personnel.\nImplement appropriate corrective measures when required.\nParticipate in team-based safety watch activities.\nPerform housekeeping duties within the facilities.\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nEducation and certifications\n\nValid Class 4B Stationary Engineer Certificate.\nHold a valid federal Government of Canada security clearance.\nExperience\n\n+3 years of experience operating Class 4B heating and cooling plants.\nTechnical and professional skills\n\nThorough knowledge of the operation of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems.\nKnowledge of boilers, chillers, generators, combustion chambers, heating equipment, water pumps, valves, expansion joints, fans, distribution systems, auxiliary equipment, and related computerized systems.\nKnowledge of testing methods applicable to mechanical equipment and water samples.\nKnowledge of administrative practices related to work orders, operational data compilation, and report preparation.\nGeneral knowledge of federal and provincial environmental, health, and safety regulations.\nAbility to start and shut down large oil- and gas-fired boilers and generators.\nAbility to adjust flow control systems, perform preventive maintenance, and replace components when required.\nProficiency in the use of various operational software applications.\nAbility to perform standardized tests to determine chemical concentrations in water.\nManual dexterity required to repair and overhaul mechanical equipment and components.\nAbility to use a variety of hand and power tools.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills to support stakeholder interactions and the preparation of shift logs, reports, and operational documentation.\nCore competencies\n\nAnalytical skills.\nProblem-solving skills.\nCreativity in identifying and implementing solutions to mechanical equipment failures.\nWhy Recruit Action? \n\nRecruit Action (agency permit: AP-2504511) provides recruitment services through quality support and a personalized approach.
