Analytics\nThe Senior Manager / Manager, Grid Strategy and Analytics is responsible for managing the technical aspects of the utility interconnection process for utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other clean energy facilities across North America.\nThis role oversees grid interconnection and integration activities throughout multiple phases of project development, including site selection, interconnection applications, study process management, negotiation of interconnection agreements, grid integration, construction, and testing.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage all aspects of the utility interconnection and grid integration process for new power plant projects.\nPerform economic transmission planning using PROMOD.\nProvide technical leadership in the review and management of interconnection documents, including studies, standards, and agreements.\nManage external consultants performing interconnection modeling and studies, including load flow studies of current and future utility system conditions.\nDevelop and maintain knowledge of relevant interconnection tariffs for key domestic and international utilities and system operators.\nProvide technical input during early-stage development regarding strategic interconnection siting and interconnection facilities.\nProvide technical leadership throughout the high-voltage design and installation process, ensuring compliance with interconnection and power purchase requirements.\nManage consultants performing transmission and substation design activities.\nCollaborate with development teams on permit submissions, utility proposals, and other project development activities.\nPartner with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms to ensure reliable and cost-effective electrical designs for contracted projects.\nProvide technical input to the Regulatory Strategy team regarding interconnection and grid integration policies.\nFinancial and Organizational Scope\nMaintain accountability for preliminary interconnection siting and requirements across assigned projects.\nManage external consultant budgets of up to $200,000.\nSupervise and provide guidance to supporting personnel within an expanding organization.\nCollaborate with senior leadership, internal development teams, and regulatory policy groups.\nInterface with independent engineers, transmission owners, engineering service providers, and subcontractors.\nQualifications and Requirements\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.\nMinimum of 5 years of high-voltage electrical systems experience preferred, ideally with a utility, system operator, or independent power producer.\nExperience managing the transmission interconnection process for power generation facilities, including wind, solar, or thermal projects.\nDemonstrated proficiency in performing economic transmission planning using PROMOD.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering preferred.\nCandidates considered for the Senior Manager level will be evaluated based on their depth and years of relevant experience.\nTechnical Knowledge and Skills\nStrong knowledge of utility system operations and interconnection processes.\nExperience with power system modeling software, including PSS®E, PSLF, PowerWorld, and TARA.\nDetailed understanding of power load flow modeling, analysis, and results.\nWorking knowledge of high-voltage electrical equipment and systems.\nAbility to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to nontechnical stakeholders.\nAbility to develop comprehensive scopes of work for external consultants and contractors.\nProfessional Competencies\nStrong
