Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.\nSENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER\nDesigning next-gen gaming for fighter pilots. Except the jet is real, the G's are real, and the mission is real.\nRed 6 is a startup doing something that's never been done: bringing fully immersive 3D synthetic worlds into real aircraft in real flight. Pilots see the actual sky around them, with realistic adversaries, wingmen, terrain, and tankers layered into their view in real time. It replaces decades-old training methods that depend on costly live aircraft or ground simulators. Warfighters get more realistic, repeatable training at a fraction of the cost, and they show up to the fight better prepared.\nWe are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer that is excited to join a growing team and bringing a product to life.\nWHAT YOU'LL OWN\nYou'll support the creation of next generation real-time hardware for a first-of-its-kind airborne augmented reality system.\n\nTechnically challenging electrical designs including power systems, FPGAs, high speed communication buses, and embedded computer systems.\n\nTest systems to ensure the product design meets all performance, quality, and reliability requirements.\n\nThe product full lifecycle. You'll help develop hardware from requirements through prototype, qualification testing, manufacturing, and then see it fly.\n\nAs for technical decisions, you get to innovate, run the trade studies, prototype the options, and influence the final design.\n\nYou will be working with a highly motivated cross functional team of engineers and program staff while continuously improving our standards and best practices for an EE group that's still taking shape.\n\nWHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT\nYou aide in the designs. Your voice carries real weight in what next generation hardware becomes.\n\nYour work matters to warfighters. It directly improves how they prepare for real-world missions.\n\nYour hardware flies. It goes into real aircraft, built with startup speed and defense-grade rigor.\n\nYou're in early on a compony poised to grow and be a leader in the industry.\n\nWHAT YOU BRING\nA BS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.\n\nMinium of 5+ years developing complex electrical systems for aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability applications, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.\n\nExperience with complex airborne or mission-critical systems.\n\nDeep end-to-end expertise developing dense PCBA designs utilizing CPUs, MPUs, GPUs, displays, sensors, and fiber optic communications.\n\nHands-on experience defining electrical interfaces, power architectures, integration strategies, PCBA and flex circuit designs.\n\nExperience conducting trade studies, design reviews, root cause analysis, performance analysis, and documentation necessary to transform tough engineering problems into manufacturable solutions.\n\nComfort in the lab with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers.\n\nThe ability to plan, track, and communicate design work against cost and schedule.\n\nStrong communication skills and a personality style that encourages open discussions and collaboration. Comfortable presenting, training others, and design reviews.\n\nU.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.\n\nIDEAL IF YOU HAVE\nHands on military flight hardware development experience, especially taking hardware through qualification and airworthiness and into flight on military aircraft.\n\nAn MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering.\n\nExperience with FPGAs, SoCs, SOMs, GPUs, displays, sensors, and test systems.\n\nTest software programming and data analysis.\n\nPCBA design and circuit simulation experience with Altium.\n\nHigh-speed design experience with DDR3/DDR4, PCIe 3.0/4.0, DisplayPort, USB 3.0, Ethernet, VPX, and rugged computing systems.\n\nKnowledge of avionics protocols like MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN, or other deterministic architectures.\n\nExperience performing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, DFMEA, risk assessment, and performance analyses.\n\nA track record designing to military environmental and safety standards, specifically MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC) and MIL-STD-810 (environments).\n\nSystems engineering ISO/IEEE 15288 and product development lifecycles experience.\n\nComfortable working alone or integrated with diverse cross functional teams.\n\nWork with a sense of urgency and confidence; and take personal pride, responsibility, and commitment for completing tasks on time in the highest quality manner.\n\nEstimated Base Salary: $130,000 to $160,000 range base salary plus full package\nFull-Time Employee Benefits\nHealthcare, Dental, and Vision (100% coverage for Employees)\n\nPaid time off, including vacation, sick, paid holidays, and parental leave\n\nShort and Long-Term Disability\n\nFlexible Spending Account (FSA)\n\n401(k) Retirement Plan\n\nVoluntary Worksite Benefits (Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity)\n\nMay be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to plan terms.\n\nNote\nRed 6 reserves the right to change its current benefits program at any time, in a manner that is consistent with applicable federal and state regulations.\nThis job description is not a contract and confers no contractual rights, privileges, or benefits on any applicant or potential applicant.
