This role is responsible for day-to-day administration and operational support across servers, user access, endpoints, core business applications, and routine infrastructure maintenance. You will work closely with other IT team members, following established standards, maintenance schedules, and escalation paths to support uptime, employee productivity, and reliable IT operations.\nThis is a support-and-maintenance role with meaningful system-level responsibility. You will troubleshoot incidents, perform routine changes, apply patches, manage standard access requests, verify backups, and maintain technical documentation. You may contribute ideas for automation or operational improvements, but you will not be expected to own overall architecture, long-range platform strategy, or major infrastructure design.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSystem Administration & Maintenance: Administer, maintain, and support Windows and/or Linux systems, core business platforms, and routine infrastructure components; perform provisioning, configuration, updates, and standard changes in line with established architecture and approved procedures.\nUser & Access Management: Manage user lifecycle tasks, groups, permissions, shared resources, and standard access requests in Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, LDAP, or equivalent systems.\nMonitoring & Incident Response: Review alerts, logs, and tickets; troubleshoot performance, availability, access, and connectivity issues; restore service where possible; and escalate higher-risk or cross-domain issues with clear notes and impact summaries.\nBackup & Recovery: Execute and verify scheduled backups, investigate failures, support restore testing, and follow documented recovery procedures.\nSecurity & Patch Management: Apply operating system and application patches, support baseline hardening, remediate routine findings, and follow security, least-privilege, and change-control practices.\nDocumentation & Process Support: Maintain runbooks, configuration records, inventories, knowledge-base articles, and change or incident documentation; coordinate with vendors and internal teams when needed.\nContinuous Improvement Under Guidance: Contribute to small operational improvements, maintenance efficiencies, and basic automation under the guidance of the Senior Systems Engineer or equivalent.\nRequired Qualifications\n3-5 years of relevant experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or a blended IT support/sysadmin role.\nHands-on experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux systems in a business environment.\nExperience supporting identity and access management in Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, LDAP, or similar platforms.\nWorking knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and general switch/router/firewall concepts.\nStrong troubleshooting skills across servers, endpoints, user access, productivity tools, and connectivity issues.\nExperience with patching, routine maintenance, monitoring, backups, and/or endpoint management.\nExperience working in a ticketing environment and documenting changes, incidents, and procedures.\nAssociate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nAdditional Desired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science\nExposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP in a support or administration capacity.\nExposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.\nBasic scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.\nFamiliarity with monitoring, RMM, or alerting tools.\nFamiliarity with backup platforms such as Veeam or equivalent.\nRelevant certifications are a plus but not required.\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions\nMust be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.\nAbility to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.\nUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.\nMay be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.\nRegular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.\nOccasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed\nRequires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.\nBackground Check\nThis position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
