The key responsibility of this position is to ensure meals are prepared, presented, and served on time and with dignity, while consistently meeting the needs of the school and its students.\nThe ideal candidate is self-directed, reliable, and comfortable working independently, with strong culinary and kitchen expediting experience. They are comfortable managing administrative tasks, interacting with school partners, and taking ownership of daily kitchen operations. A strong emphasis will be placed on the candidate’s ability to stay organized, manage priorities, and maintain Red Rabbit’s standards for food quality, presentation, service, and compliance while working independently.\nKey Responsibilities\nEngage with the students ensuring a positive and uplifting experience for all\nMaintain a clean and presentable service line, uplifting the students with dignity \nCreatively use the menus provided from your base kitchen to elevate the cafeteria experience \nEnsure meals are served on time in compliant portions daily\nCoordinate meal readiness, staging and service flow to ensure all meals are complete, accurately portioned and served on schedule.\nProactively share information between teams to keep operations running smoothly.\nIdentify and resolve potential conflicts or \"collision points\" to maintain workflow.\nMaintain operational systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and meal compliance \nCreate accountability checks to ensure consistent data management.\nProactively address day-of concerns with school partners and keep Head Chef and District Manager informed \nCollaborate with the kitchen team to solve same-day operational issues.\nOther duties as assigned\nSkills Required\n1-3 years experience in an operational or administrative role supporting cross-functional teams. \n1+ year in a customer-facing role preferred \nProven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple projects successfully \nExperience with schools and/or food service, a plus \nAn entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be part of a growing, mission-based company \nExcellent communicator in written and verbal form \nAcute attention to detail and impeccable follow through \nMust share our passion improving nutrition in schools and see our work through the lens of social justice and equality \nFood Handler Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire\nBilingual : Spanish/English a plus\nAdditional Information\nJob Type: Full Time\nTypical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 07:30 AM - 2:30 PM (apx)\nReports to: District Manager\nCompensation: $22-24 an hour\nBenefits\nGenerous PTO (most major holidays off)\nHealth, Dental, Vision Insurance\n401k Option\nPaid Professional Development\nEducation Reimbursement Opportunities\nPaid Family Leave\nDisability Insurance Coverage \nAbout Red Rabbit\nFounded in 2005, Red Rabbit is an MWBE-certified K-12 school food management company on a mission to transform school dining.
