We work hard, play harder, embrace authenticity, and always support one another to achieve our goals.\nLocation: 501 42nd St N, Fargo, ND 58102\n1st Shift: Monday - Thursday (7:00am - 5:00pm)\nPosition Summary:\nThe Grain Mill Operator is responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of grain milling equipment used in processing sunflower seeds and other specialty grains. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining milling machinery, monitoring production quality, and ensuring that processes adhere to safety and quality standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOperate and monitor grain milling equipment, including grinders, mills, and separators, to process sunflower seeds and other specialty grains.\nAdjust machine settings, such as grind size and speed, based on product specifications and production requirements.\nOversee and operate grain cleaning equipment such as air classifiers, screens, and aspirators to remove impurities, foreign materials, and damaged grains before milling.\nEnsure grains are properly cleaned and sorted to meet quality and safety standards.\nPerform routine checks and calibrations to ensure optimal performance and consistency.\nOversee the milling process, ensuring that production goals and quality standards are met.\nMonitor feed rates, output, and product consistency to ensure compliance with specifications.\nTroubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues or malfunctions to minimize downtime.\nPerform regular maintenance on milling equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machinery.\nFollow a preventive maintenance schedule to prevent equipment failures and extend machinery lifespan.\nEnsure that work areas and equipment are clean and well-maintained, adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines.\nConduct regular quality checks on processed grains to ensure they meet product specifications and quality standards.\nDocument and report any deviations or quality issues to the Production Supervisor and take corrective actions as needed.\nEnsure proper handling and storage of processed grains to prevent contamination or spoilage.\nFollow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.\nAdhere to company policies and regulatory requirements related to food safety, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).\nReport any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions immediately to the Production Supervisor.\nMaintain accurate records of milling operations, including production data, maintenance activities, and quality control checks.\nComplete and submit production reports and logs in a timely manner.\nWork closely with other production team members to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the milling process.\nCommunicate effectively with the Production Supervisor and other departments to coordinate activities and address any issues.\nQualifications:\nExperience operating milling equipment or in a similar production role in a grain or food processing environment is preferred.\nProficiency or willingness to learn operating and troubleshooting milling machinery.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to adhere to quality standards.\nBasic mathematical skills for monitoring production metrics and making adjustments.\nAbility to lift and move heavy materials as required.\nCapability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods and handling various machinery.\nWorking Conditions:\nWork is performed in a production facility with varying temperatures (cooler or warmer environments depending on the process area).\nExposure to loud machinery, dust, and food-grade oils may occur.\nEmployees must wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, hairnets, and ear protection.\nProduction schedules may require overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts.\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequently required to stand for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).\nRegularly lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.\nPerform repetitive tasks, including bending, twisting, and reaching.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production quotas.\nCompany Benefits:\nAt Red River Commodities, we value our employees and are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.
