This role ensures full PCBA, subassembly and system-level test capability at both Red 6 and contract manufacturer sites.\nThe ideal candidate has deep experience building robust, repeatable, aerospace-grade production and manufacturing software test environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduction Test Development\nDevelop, release and maintain manufacturing tests, scripts, tools and related artifacts. Must be able to code, modify code and build testing software in Python or C/C++.\n\nDevelop PCBA, subassembly, and system-level production test strategies.\n\nDefine test coverage, acceptance criteria, and failure of reporting standards.\n\nWork with Red 6 software development teams to integrate provided test scripts and source code.\n\nWork closely with contract manufacturers and document recommended or requested functions, modules, or scripts, identify potential gaps and assure that those are implemented when possible\n\nEnsure CMs properly build/compile test software for production use.\n\nDevelop a plan and required tools for transparency, real time availability of test logs, results, failures for each build activity\n\nTest Infrastructure & Equipment\nDefine specifications for jigs, fixtures, and system-level test racks.\n\nOversee CM development and duplication of test racks at Red 6 and CM sites.\n\nValidate test repeatability, reliability, and GR&R performance.\n\nLead environmental, functional, and stress testing validation as required.\n\nCM & Production Support\nSupport test implementation at CM facilities.\n\nTroubleshoot test failures and yield issues.\n\nDrive root cause analysis and corrective actions.\n\nEstablish test data collection, traceability, and reporting requirements.\n\nCompliance & Documentation\nEnsure test processes meet DOD, aerospace, and IPC standards.\n\nDevelop and maintain test procedures, validation reports, and configuration control documentation.\n\nSupport qualification builds, FAI, and production readiness reviews.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of experience in production software test engineering (aerospace/defense preferred).\n\n5+ years of experience with coding with Python, C/C++, or similar test platforms.\n\nStrong background in PCBA and system-level electronic test.\n\nExperience developing automated test systems and fixtures.\n\nExperience supporting CMs in test implementation.\n\nFamiliarity with compiling/building test software in manufacturing environments.\n\nStrong understanding of traceability and production data management.\n\nExcellent cross-functional communication skills.\n\nUS Citizen (security clearance is a plus).\n\nTravel is required to CM facilities.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with MIL-STD requirements.\n\nExperience in environmental and stress screening (ESS/HASS/HALT)\n\nEstimated Base Salary Range:\n$128,000 to $168,000 dependent on skills and experience\nFull-Time Employee Benefits\nHealthcare, Dental, and Vision (100% coverage for Employees)\n\nPaid time off, including vacation, sick, paid holidays, and parental leave\n\nShort and Long-Term Disability\n\nFlexible Spending Account (FSA)\n\n401(k) Retirement Plan\n\nVoluntary Worksite Benefits (Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity)\n\nMay be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to plan terms.\n\nNote\nRed 6 reserves the right to change its current benefits program at any time, in a manner that is consistent with applicable federal and state regulations.\nThis job description is not a contract and confers no contractual rights, privileges, or benefits on any applicant or potential applicant.
