This fully remote role is business-critical and time-sensitive, directly supporting RCC Global LLC's mission to deliver resilient, high-quality Oracle Utilities solutions to utility clients across North America.\nThis is a fully remote position open to candidates within the United States. The Infrastructure Engineer is expected to maintain a reliable home office, high-speed internet connectivity, and availability during core business hours across client time zones. Occasional travel (approximately 10-25%) may be required for go-lives, critical incidents, data center work, or on-site infrastructure activities that cannot be performed remotely.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe following duties are representative of the work performed in this role. Other duties may be assigned as business needs evolve.\nDesign, deploy, and maintain infrastructure that supports application resilience\n\nPerform problem and root cause management in the areas of system performance, security, and connectivity\n\nTune hardware and software configurations for local and client environments\n\nPlan, in detail, all tasks needed for server hardware or software deliverables, and communicate and explain these plans to non-technical teams to obtain consensus and approval\n\nTroubleshoot network and connectivity issues and provide solutions; ensure voice and data flow smoothly\n\nIdentify system and/or application issues and work with users and/or clients as needed to resolve them\n\nProvide on-call support services with flexible hours and schedule\n\nUpdate hardware needed to maintain the network and servers\n\nProactively identify opportunities to save costs and more effectively manage servers\n\nMaintain contact with consultants to proactively identify changes as needed\n\nCreate and define metrics that accurately reflect the current state of a given process\n\nParticipate in process improvement initiatives and adhere to client procedures and standards\n\nProvide technical support to RCC Global LLC employees\n\nExplain procedures clearly, in writing or verbally, to team members or users\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nUndergraduate degree in Network Systems Administration, Information Systems Technology, Engineering, or a related technology field, or equivalent experience\n\n5+ years' experience with Linux server configuration for lightweight deployment (no GUI), including creating custom kernels, automating startup, and recovering damaged systems\n\n5+ years' experience with shell scripting, middleware, and SQL\n\nNetworking experience including firewalls & VPN (SonicWALL), Wi-Fi management, network switch configuration (VLANs and trunking), and multi-switch topologies (Dell managed switches)\n\nFamiliarity with Linux via the command line (required)\n\nStrong oral and written communication skills, including explaining plans or issues to non-technical teams in a distributed, remote setting\n\nReliable home office with high-speed internet, and ability to travel up to 10-25% (clients generally within the United States)\n\nAbility to provide on-call support with flexible hours, identify risks, and quickly resolve time-sensitive issues\n\nExperience tuning hardware and software configurations for local and client environments\n\nAbility to create and define metrics that accurately reflect the current state of a process\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nWebLogic Administration:\nManagement of clustered environments\n\nMonitoring and scripted deployment of applications\n\nPerformance tuning and monitoring\n\nVirtualization:\nExperience managing virtualized infrastructure\n\nVMWare vCenter, ESXi, Workstation, and Player\n\nOracle VM and OVM Manager\n\nVeeam Backup and Restore\n\nAdditional:\nOracle Database Administration experience\n\nExperience supporting Microsoft Office and related applications\n\nDNS and name registration\n\nActive Directory, both GUI and PowerShell manipulation\n\nKnowledge of the Oracle Utilities product suite and the energy industry\n\nCORE COMPETENCIES\nCommunication & Client Orientation: adapts messaging for technical and non-technical audiences and builds trust with client IT personnel in a distributed setting\n\nProblem Solving & Critical Thinking: breaks overwhelming problems into manageable sub-components and drives them to root cause resolution\n\nSense of Urgency & Reliability: treats business-critical issues with appropriate speed and maintains dependable presence during core hours and on-call windows\n\nSelf-Direction & Accountability: manages workload independently, follows through on commitments, and delivers quality work without close supervision\n\nAdaptability & Continuous Learning: actively learns new technologies and applies them to improve outcomes\n\nComposure Under Pressure: remains calm and solution-focused during critical incidents, go-lives, and after-hours escalations\n\nCollaboration & Ownership: works effectively across teams, shares knowledge, and takes initiative on improvement and cost-saving opportunities\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nThis is a remote, office-style role performed primarily from a home workstation.
