Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.\nPay Rate: $23\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n1. Monitor all equipment on a daily basis.\n2. Responsible for maintenance and repair on bagging equipment.\n3. Assist Plant Engineer as necessary.\n4. Conduct preventative maintenance program on all equipment in processing.\n5. Help monitor product quantity and quality by reporting any problems to processing supervisor.\n6. Keep area safe and report any potential safety hazards.\n7. Record keeping of daily production along with cleaning records.\n8. Work with Plant Engineer on scheduling of production staff.\n9. Primary Forklift operator\n10. Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.\n11. Adhering to the Code of Business Ethics is essential. Profits may be impacted by failure to keep equipment operating and poor scheduling of processing crew.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: \nAssume supervisory responsibility for processing crew in absence of Plant Engineer.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: \nExperience in processing type environment, some supervisory skills and mechanical aptitude required. Must be able to count and to complete paperwork as needed. Previous forklift driving in warehouse atmosphere required.\nWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: \nJob requires working in area with fluctuating temperatures; 10° rake bin, 20 - 25° vault and 40 - 50° processing area. Standing on feet all day with labor intensive work. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Requires good manual dexterity. Must work in areas with forklifts in operation and around machinery with moving parts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
