This is a chance to shape a chemistry function from the ground up. You'll hire and develop the team, set the department's policies and procedures, and own the chemical results that support facility operations. The Chemistry Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is onsite in Janesville, WI.\nThe base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.\nWhat You'll Do\nChampion a safe work environment and a strong safety culture across the chemistry department and laboratories.\nDevelop, establish, and implement chemistry department policies, programs, and procedures.\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of analytical chemists, and take accountability for team performance and the facility's chemical results.\nPartner with Quality Assurance to ensure required activities are completed accurately.\nDetermine staffing needs, and interview, hire, and train new team members.\nDevelop and manage the chemistry department budget.\nRequirements\nWhat We’re Looking For\nBachelor's degree in chemistry or a related technical field.\nTwo (2) or more years of management or supervisory experience preferred.\nAt least four (4) years of experience in an industrial or radiochemistry laboratory.\nTechnical understanding of nuclear facility technology, principles, and operation.\nOutstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.\nAbility to work safely in an industrial and radiation environment.\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements\nIndustrial laboratory setting with radiation exposure risk; you'll follow established safety precautions.\nModerate exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, odors, and/or loud noise.\nStanding and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day, and handling objects up to 40 pounds.\nPeriodic or occasional non-standard hours and shift work, including nights and weekends.\nThe above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
