This position will encompass ownership of demineralized water, nitrogen gas handling, compressed oxygen, and nitrogen purge gas systems. Key responsibilities associated with system ownership include vendor oversight for procurement, reviewing and approving design or fabrication documents, coordination with Construction during installation, site walkdowns, and inspections.\nHybrid or remote work arrangement will be considered. While our headquarters is located in Janesville, Wisconsin, we welcome applicants from across the U.S. who can effectively collaborate in a virtual environment. Candidates may be asked to travel occasionally for team meetings or onsite engagements, depending on business needs.\nThe base salary range for this position is $76,100 - $150,075 annually plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nExamples of specific duties and responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer role include, but are not limited to:\nInterfacing with Project Controls team on scheduled tasks and provide updates on a weekly basis for reporting purposes\nPreparing and issuing design packages, specifications, drawings, test plans, calculations, reports, and quality classification forms for systems such as:\nDemineralized Water System \nNitrogen Handling System \nChemical Reagent System\nNitrogen Purge System\nBuilding HVAC System\nRadiological HVAC System\nStakeholder review of system design packages served by Auxiliary Systems\nInterfacing with the Procurement team for vendor design and fabrication contracts\nWork with equipment vendors on factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), and on-time/on-budget design and/or delivery of auxiliary equipment\nPerform owner’s acceptance reviews for vendor-supplied design documentation \nPrepare/review test plans for factory and site acceptance testing of equipment\nInterface with Construction team for field inquiries and issues\nPerform walk-downs of installed equipment in the field\nThe Mechanical Engineer will work closely with other experienced engineers within the Engineering group to provide support and mentorship to ensure effective turnover of system ownership.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline\n6+ years of relevant project experience in a professional setting\nWillingness to learn, understand, and develop new technology\nAbility to oversee multiple projects and activities in various stages of completion\nAbility to perform small scope project management related duties (deadline accountability, providing schedule updates, planning resource needs, etc.)\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills\nPreferred Experience\n10+ years of relevant project experience in a professional setting\nKnowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code\nExperience with fundamentals of structural design for seismic loading\nEngineering support of an active construction site\nKnowledge of and experience in supporting quality systems including engineering support of incoming inspection of bespoke equipment\nExperience working within a nuclear quality system\nExperience with AutoCAD Plant 3-D , SolidWorks, AutoPipe \nAble to demonstrate proficiency in some or all of the following areas:\nThermal fluid system design\nPiping design\nTank design\nFiltration systems\nHVAC systems\nValve specification\nFluid system instrumentation selection. \nExperience with fire protection including NFPA 801 is a plus\nEligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls.
