The Nuclear Quality Control Inspector is responsible for reviewing work packages to ensure inspection and examination requirements are met based on required codes and standards and is also responsible for providing support for internal and external auditing and surveillance activities as assigned.\nThe base salary range for this position is $87,000 - $135,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.\nDuties and Responsibilities of the Nuclear QC Inspector:\nPerform required inspections.\nIdentify non-conforming issues and collaborate with responsible management to resolve issues and provide recommendations to positively influence quality.\nParticipate in closure of non-conforming conditions by performing inspections when applicable.\nRecognize QC participation intervals associated with construction installation tasks. Coordinate required inspections according to sequence of craft activities.\nReview third party NDE/NDT reports.\nAttend Construction Manager Quality meeting(s) when requested.\nThe candidate may be required to cross-train in construction disciplines not previously qualified within.\nSupport a quality-driven culture.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nMinimum of 10 years Capital Construction experience (hands-on craft experience and/or inspection experience can be combined with a minimum of 5 years inspection experience).\nAWS Certified Welding Inspector.\nUnderstanding of NDE/NDT processes such as penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, radiographic testing.\nExperience with coordinating and prioritizing visual inspections.\nTechnical understanding of construction installation techniques (piping and structural steel).\nAbility to determine corrective action with regard to construction installation deficiencies.\nFamiliarity and have previous work experience with AWS/ASME codes of construction.\nProficient computer skills for the position (e.g., Bluebeam literate, Navisworks or equivalent modeling software, electronic document management systems)\nUnderstanding of hierarchy between codes and standards, approved design, and owner’s specification in regards to construction installation requirements.\nCandidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position access requirements and essential job functions.\nAble to certify and operate aerial work platform equipment (e.g., scissor lift, boom lift)\nAbility to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization, as well as interface with regulators, contractors, and suppliers.\nWorking Conditions and Physical Effort:\nRequires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.\nModerate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. \nFine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.\nWork involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. \nWork environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. \nEligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls.
