The role itself will require hands-on skill with semiconductor manufacturing, combined with advanced data analyses capabilities. Our ideal candidate has relevant, hands-on industry experience in addition to experience in a laboratory environment and is driven to use a scientific approach to determine the root cause of problems and find practical solutions\nReporting to the Manager, NPI Process Development, the successful applicant will assume a key role in the development, fabrication and characterization of the company’s proprietary semiconductor radiation detector products. This role is an onsite at our Saanichton production facility. \nKey Responsibilities:\nCore Focus: Vacuum Deposition, Solution Deposition, Spin Coating, Photolithography, Etch\nDeveloping and optimizing semiconductor fabrication processes such as dicing, lapping, polishing, deposition, photolithography and etching\nDesigning and executing Design of Experiments (DOE), conducting statistical analysis of data for process optimization and generating clear, concise reports and presentations\nOrganizing process runs and fabricating sensors to execute experiments, gain process statistics and to fulfill prototype deliverables\nDocumenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for device fabrication processes and material/device characterization instruments\nDeveloping process automation solutions to improve process quality and reduce process cost\nDevelop and execute process qualification plans, including IQ/OQ/PQ activities, validation protocols and control plans. \nPerforming failure analysis and troubleshooting of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause\nDevelop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)\nProviding support for training and certification of technologists and technicians\nSupport the transfer function between NPI and Manufacturing\nRequired/Preferred Experience\nDemonstrated research experience with processes noted in the Core Focus above\nMinimum of five years of relevant, hand-on industry experience in process or product development in a manufacturing environment\nExperimental Design experience using ANOVA and/or DOE, preferred\nOur ideal candidates often have an interest in “maker” crafts such as car or machine maintenance, they enjoy hands-on, problem-solving activities.\nSkills/Additional requirements\nAn understanding of Semiconductor Physics or relevant Material Properties\nA very hands-on and innovative individual that works well in a team environment\nMust possess excellent oral and written communication skills\nOutstanding interpersonal skills and be able to work with limited supervision\nDemonstrated positive attitude and self-motivation\nEducation\nMaster’s or PhD degree in mechanical engineering, nanotechnology, material science, electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, chemical engineering, chemistry, or other scientific field.\n\nSalary Range: $100,000 -
