We believe that every employee has a role to play in creating a healthy and safe workplace, and we invest in developing our people through ongoing training, support, and career development opportunities.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Leading Hand Shaft Electrician, you will provide hands on supervision of the electrical maintenance and repair of shaft sinking infrastructure, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical, control, and communications systems on site.\n Key Responsibilities\nMaintain a strong commitment to safety and ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures in confined and vertical shaft environments.\nLead and supervise the electrical crew, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.\nCoordinate daily activities, allocate tasks, and provide direction to the team in the absence of the Supervisor. \nMentor and support electricians, apprentices, and trades assistants, promoting safe work practices and ongoing skill development.\nPerform routine, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on powered winding systems and shaft related electrical infrastructure.\nDiagnose faults and carry out repairs to control circuits, variable speed drives, and communication networks. \nMonitor and optimise hoisting system performance through SCADA and control system diagnostics.\nInstallation, maintenance and repair of EEHA equipment in an underground coal mining environment\nConduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, pre-start checks, and safety observations to ensure compliance with statutory and site requirements.\nComplete shift reports and ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with relevant procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.\n About You:\nAustralian citizenship or PR.\nExtensive experience in electrical installation and maintenance within the mining industry.\nCurrent Electrical Licence, Switchboard Rescue, CPR & LVR/EAR certifications.\nCurrent Working at Heights certification.\nDemonstrated leadership and team supervision experience.\nStrong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and diagnostic skills.\nStrong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and coordinate work to meet operational targets.\nWhy Join Redpath?\nThis is a full time, long-term opportunity with excellent job security benefits:\nIncome protection insurance is available for salary employees\nEven time roster for true work life balance\nCompetitive hourly rates + super paid on all hours\nOngoing training & OEM accredited trade courses\nClear career progression pathways\nPPE provided\nSalary Sacrifice options for Superannuation and Novated car leasing \nDiscounted health insurance with BUPA \nPrescription safety glasses reimbursement (up to $220) \nEmployee Assistance Program -
