They just need to come back. Today Redwood is the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America - recovering, refining, and redeploying critical minerals from end-of-life batteries back into the supply chain. On the energy side, Redwood has deployed the largest second-life battery project in the world, delivering power to AI data centers in months rather than years using proprietary energy architecture engineered entirely in-house. The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it.\nOperations Packaging Supervisor\nThe Operations Packaging Supervisor is a frontline leadership role responsible for safely and efficiently leading finished-product packaging operations at Redwood Materials’ McCarran facilities.\nRedwood receives a wide variety of end-of-life batteries and battery-containing products, recovers critical minerals and other valuable materials, and transforms those materials into new battery materials and energy-storage products for customers. The Operations Packaging Supervisor leads the teams responsible for preparing these finished products for customer delivery.\nThis role ensures finished battery materials and energy-storage products are packaged, labeled, documented, handled, and staged in accordance with product specifications, customer requirements, quality standards, and transportation requirements. The supervisor establishes and reinforces best-in-class operational discipline, safe work practices, product-quality controls, and packaging standards.\nThe Operations Packaging Supervisor maintains a strong presence in the production environment, models expected behaviors, and partners closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering, and site leadership to maintain reliable packaging operations and consistent product flow. This position plays a critical role in developing operator capability, strengthening safety culture, protecting finished-product quality, and ensuring customer-ready products are completed accurately and on schedule.\nResponsibilities\nLead daily finished-product packaging operations with an uncompromising commitment to safety, environmental compliance, product quality, customer requirements, and operational discipline.\nSupervise, coach, train, and develop a diverse team of packaging operators to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective production.\nMaintain a strong and consistent presence on the production floor and model the safety, quality, accountability, and operational behaviors expected from the team.\nSet clear daily performance expectations, assign work, provide timely feedback, and hold team members accountable for results and behaviors.\nCoordinate packaging schedules, staffing, and production priorities based on finished-product availability, customer orders, packaging-material availability, equipment readiness, and shipment requirements.\nOversee packaging activities that may include filling, weighing, sealing, wrapping, labeling, container preparation, palletizing, sampling, material staging, and finished-product handling.\nEnsure finished battery materials and energy-storage products are packaged according to approved product specifications, customer requirements, and established work instructions.\nVerify the accuracy of product identification, labels, weights, quantities, lot information, containers, seals, documentation, and other traceability requirements.\nEnsure packaged products meet established standards for container integrity, cleanliness, protection, presentation, and shipment readiness.\nMaintain product identity and lot traceability throughout the packaging and staging process.\nPrevent product contamination, material mixing, incorrect labeling, packaging damage, and other conditions that could affect finished-product quality or customer acceptance.\nMonitor production performance and key performance indicators related to safety, quality, packaging accuracy, throughput, labor efficiency, equipment uptime, waste, rework, schedule attainment, and cost.\nEnsure operators consistently follow standardized work instructions, packaging specifications, quality controls, material-handling procedures, and escalation requirements.\nConfirm that packaging materials, containers, labels, pallets, liners, seals, and other supplies are available and appropriate for scheduled production.\nCoordinate with Production teams to manage the transfer of completed materials and products into the packaging process.\nPartner with Warehouse and Logistics teams to ensure finished products are properly identified, staged, stored, and released for customer shipment.\nPartner with Quality to address packaging defects, labeling errors, weight discrepancies, damaged containers, traceability issues, contamination concerns, and other nonconforming conditions.\nEnsure nonconforming or potentially affected products are promptly identified, contained, documented, and escalated.\nPartner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve packaging-equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.\nIdentify and resolve production bottlenecks, equipment interruptions, labor constraints, packaging-material shortages, and workflow issues affecting customer-ready output.\nSupport equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, production trials, and the introduction of new packaging equipment, materials, products, or processes.\nParticipate in safety and quality incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.\nReview production records, downtime information, quality results, customer requirements, and operator feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\nLead shift meetings, communicate safety topics and production priorities, and ensure effective operational handoffs between shifts.\nMaintain accurate production, quality, traceability, training, inventory, downtime, and shift documentation.\nSupport the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures, packaging specifications, and operator training materials.\nReinforce housekeeping, workplace organization, tool control, inventory accuracy, and material-control standards throughout the packaging area.\nSupport employee hiring, onboarding, qualification, cross-training, attendance management, performance management, and professional development.\nDrive a culture of safety, ownership, teamwork, accountability, problem-solving, customer focus, and continuous improvement.\nDesired Qualifications\nFive or more years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, production operations, industrial processing, battery materials, chemical materials, warehousing, material handling, or a similar operational environment.\nPrevious experience in a supervisor, team lead, trainer, or other frontline leadership role strongly preferred.\nDemonstrated success coaching employees, improving performance, building engagement, and developing operator capability.\nExperience leading packaging, finished-goods, production, warehouse, or material-handling operations in an industrial environment.\nExperience packaging manufactured materials or products to defined quality specifications and customer requirements.\nWorking knowledge of packaging processes such as filling, weighing, sealing, labeling, wrapping, palletizing, container preparation, lot identification, and finished-product staging.\nExperience working with industrial packaging and material-handling equipment such as conveyors, filling systems, scales, sealers, labelers, wrappers, pallet-handling equipment, and forklifts.\nExperience managing product identification, lot traceability, labeling accuracy, packaging documentation, or finished-product quality controls.\nStrong hazard-recognition skills with the ability to teach and reinforce safe work practices.\nSolid understanding of manufacturing operations, process discipline, standardized work, quality controls, and operational procedures.\nExperience monitoring production KPIs and using data to improve safety, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, equipment uptime, waste, schedule attainment, or cost.\nAbility to identify operational abnormalities, perform initial troubleshooting, and coordinate effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams.\nExperience participating in incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action processes.\nFamiliarity with computerized manufacturing, inventory, warehouse, quality, or production-control systems preferred.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey expectations, production priorities, customer requirements, and operational issues clearly and effectively.\nSelf-motivated, accountable, and capable of driving issues to resolution using available resources.\nAbility to work effectively across Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, and site leadership teams.\nPassion for sustainability, environmental responsibility, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.\nAdditional Requirements\nWork schedule may vary depending on site operational needs, and flexibility is required.\nMust be willing and able to work the assigned shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, or rotating schedules when required.\nAbility to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly work on the production floor.\nMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.\nThe position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.\nThe position is full-time.
