The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it.\nProduction Engineering Manager\nRedwood Materials is seeking a Manager of Production Engineering to play a pivotal role in building out our Battery Materials Campus. The manager will work intimately with the team to manage high-visibility/value projects and will apply technical / leadership skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of the projects. \nThe final job title and level will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. \nResponsibilities will include: \nBuild and lead engineering teams that work in closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure that our processes are: safe, sustainable and profitable. \nUse data to set strategy for optimization, debottlenecking and improvement of industrial scale processes \nDefine engineering workflows and plans for the team. \nLead design concept/development efforts, working directly with engineers to vet/validate multiple different proposed solutions. \nLeading and participating in cross-functional teams to develop equipment \nLeading and participating in research and development to meet strategic objectives \nFinalize design scope from initial concepts and budgets, define initial assumptions. \nPartner with the project management team to identify and document all project design milestones and deliverables. \nContinuously monitor and measure all project design processes and activities to identify and communicate potential issues, risks, and problems and provide corrective action options to drive to resolution. \nServe as a final reviewer for all designs, ensuring simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and functionality/robustness. \nDesired Qualifications: \nB.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering \n7+ years of Experience in industrial chemical processing or metallurgical operations \nExperience with large capital project planning and budgeting \nExperience in the preparation of mechanical contract drawings and engineering specifications. \nTrack record of successfully leading teams \nSelf motivated with a hands on approach who takes the initiative \nStrong written and verbal communication \nA passion for sustainability and making the world a better place! \nPhysical Requirements: \nAbility to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments. \nMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed. \nMust maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards. \nMust be able to communicate clearly. \nWorking Conditions: \nSplit work environment between office and the production facility. \nWork may involve extended periods of working in the production facility. \nAbility to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time. \nMay require occasional work weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs. \nThe position is full-time.
