The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it.\nAbout the Role\nWe're looking for a Senior Finance Associate to join our Energy BD Finance group in San Francisco. In this role, you'll be part of the core team that owns the commercial finance function for our energy storage business - building and maintaining project finance models and supporting the end-to-end deal development, approval, and financing processes.\nWhat You'll Do\nProject Finance Modeling: Build and maintain sophisticated project finance models for large-scale energy storage deployments, including scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, IRR/NPV outputs, and investor-ready presentations.\nDeal Flow Support: Partner with Business Development to support the full deal lifecycle - from initial screening and term sheet evaluation to contract negotiation - providing financial analysis and recommendations at each stage.\nDeal Approvals: Own the financial diligence and approval package for new energy storage transactions, structuring analysis that clearly frames risk, return, and strategic fit for executive and cross-functional review.\nPricing & Commercial Strategy: Develop pricing frameworks that reflect true cost-to-serve and target returns, and partner with sales and BD to stress-test deal economics before commitment.\nWhat You'll Bring\n4-7 years of experience in renewables project finance with significant deal-facing responsibilities\nExceptional financial modeling skills - comfortable building complex, multi-scenario models from scratch in Excel\nAbility to structure ambiguous commercial situations into clear financial frameworks that drive decisions\nStrong communication and presentation skills, with experience distilling complex analyses for executive and investor audiences\nSelf-starter mentality with high ownership and the ability to manage multiple live deal processes simultaneously\nPreferred Qualifications\nUndergraduate or professional background in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field\nDirect experience in energy storage, battery systems, or renewable energy project development and finance\nFamiliarity with tax equity structures, ITC qualification, and government incentive programs relevant to clean energy\nIn accordance with California pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is listed below.
