You will be instrumental in mentoring engineers, managing team deliverables, and guiding the design, development, and enhancement of scalable, secure software that powers enterprise data exchange for more than 1,000 customers worldwide.\nAs an Engineering Manager, you will:\nPeople Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, coach, and grow a team of talented software engineers, supporting career development, conducting performance reviews, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative team culture.\nTechnical Strategy & Architecture: Provide hands-on technical guidance, participate in design reviews, and define technical roadmaps for Java/Spring Boot microservices while ensuring high standards for architecture, security, and observability.\nDelivery & Platform Ownership: Oversee team execution, Sprint planning, and delivery timelines to ensure resilient, scalable core platform features and infrastructure.\nAI Integration: Research and apply AI/ML concepts and their usage to innovate and enhance the MFT (Managed File Transfer) and WLA (Workload Automation) product capabilities (e.g., intelligent routing, predictive maintenance, enhanced security).\nYOUR EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.\n15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years of direct people management experience leading engineering teams.\nStrong Java, Spring Boot, and REST API skills with a solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and architecture principles.\nCloud Platform Expertise (AWS Preferred): Extensive experience architecting, deploying, and managing complex solutions on a major cloud platform, with a deep understanding of cloud concepts including networking, security, and cost optimization.\nExpertise in building distributed SaaS systems, micro services, APIs, Kubernetes, cloud platforms.\nAI Awareness: Proven familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their usage, with practical experience or a strong conceptual understanding of how to apply these techniques to solve engineering problems.\nDevOps Expertise: Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform, and automated platform management.\nEKS/Kubernetes: Mastery of container orchestration, specifically with EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), including managing inter-component communication and cluster operations.\nProtocol Understanding: In-depth understanding of enterprise file transfer protocols (e.g., SFTP, FTPS, AS2) and secure communication protocols.\nProven track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams, hiring top talent, and driving team productivity.\nKnowledge of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\nExperience with large-scale enterprise application integration, preferably with SAP.\nIf you like growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!\nTHE LEGAL BIT\nRedwood is an equal opportunity employer.
