You will be the financial backbone for our R&D and Support functions, leading forecasting and operational activities. This role includes budgeting, variance analysis, and process improvements, while directly interacting with Redwood leadership.\nThis is a hands-on, in-depth analysis role. You will drive efficiency and profitability by actioning a financial strategy founded in analytics which impacts critical business decisions.\nBudgeting & Forecasting:\nManage annual budgets and forecasts for R&D departments (e.g., Engineering, Product, Support, InfoSec, AWS).\nCollaborate with department leads to gather input and ensure alignment with strategic goals.\nBuild and refine financial models to project future Opex trends and identify potential risks and opportunities.\nVariance Analysis:\nPerform detailed variance analysis comparing actual Opex to budget and forecast.\nInvestigate and explain variances, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.\nPrepare insightful reports and presentations summarizing findings for leadership review.\nCOGS & OPEX Management & Reporting:\nMonitor and track functional Opex spending, ensuring alignment to budget.\nMonitor and track AWS spending, ensuring alignment to budget.\nDevelop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track Opex efficiency and effectiveness.\nPrepare regular financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual Opex summaries.\nSupport the close process by providing accurate and timely Opex data.\nCollaboration & Communication:\nBuild strong relationships with peers, R&D department leads, and leadership/ key stakeholders.\nCommunicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial audiences.\nCollaborate with the broader finance team to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.\nYOUR EXPERIENCE\n3 - 5 years of work experience in financial planning & analysis in a SaaS environment\nBachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance related field\nWorkday and Adaptive Planning Experience is a plus, but not required\nProficient in Google and Microsoft Suite of products, most specifically Excel and Sheets.\nStrong financial and business modeling skills with experience in building financial models\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nExcellent analytical abilities, problem-solving skills and business acumen\nExceptional attention to detail and accuracy\nExcellent project and time management abilities\nAbility to work under pressure within short time constraints and in a complex high growth organization\nPossess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset.
