Assistant Buyer:

An Assistant buyer is responsible for supporting the buyer in all aspects of the business including product sourcing, pricing metrics, sku maintenance, vendor communication, forecasting order quantities, enter/communicate/follow up merchandising orders, sample management, vendor meeting prep and participation, store distribution to maximize sales, and competitive analysis. The assistant buyer is a buyer in training and may eventually be responsible for a product category with limited sales volume.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist buyer in category management
  • Responsible for merchandising the stores and supporting REEDS.com to deliver an excellent customer experience resulting in improved conversion rates.
  • Remain current with market and industry trends.
  • Responsible for researching, development, and presentation of the trend report
  • Remain competitive in the market place by conducting competitive studies across assortments
  • Confirm standard quality of merchandise and ensure REEDS rules of engagement are being following through merchandise set up process.
  • Assist in management and analysis of individual store product assortments.
  • Assist buyer to develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Prepare for/ assist with providing materials to create productive vendor meetings. Work with the buyer(s) to run all appropriate reports, pull samples (if necessary) and write meeting recap.
  • Monitor and follow-up on setting and maintaining vendor files and product cost sheets.
  • Set up and maintain accurate product detail plu information in system. Request and review spec sheets from vendors, file, and enter accurately.
  • Manage all PO entry, updates, costing, and delivery timelines.
  • Protect and monitor the integrity of the category’s gross margins.
  • Vendor sample management; Monitor and follow up on organizing, managing and returning vendor samples. (receiving, logging, returns)
  • Act as the liaison between merchandising, marketing, and the e-commerce teams to support product and promotional needs. Tasks not limited to but including; catalog, categorization, attributions, copy, images, in store display & signage, elements.
  • Marketing coordination (photography, suggestions on social posts, emails, website flips)
  • Review business reports with the buyer(s) on a regular basis to understand sales and productivity shifts, the impact on established financial targets and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Work from REEDS Home Office 2 days a week minimum
  • Ability to travel
  • Willingness to attend after hours job functions; dinners, trainings, events, when needed
  • Conduct business affairs in a legal and ethical manner, building a socially conscious environment.
  • compliance to corporate policies & procedures
  • Dress code- Business casual; no athletic sneakers, no ripped jeans. Vendor meetings require professional dress; no denim
  • Completion of GIA AJP course within 1 year of hire or equivalent training
  • Completion of GIA diamond lab course and any other required education; if offered
  • Completion of REEDS University & REEDS IT trainings & modules as required.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

· Job performed in a basic office environment

· Flexible Schedule and possible travel up to 10%

· Physical demands include repetitive movement, light lifting less than 25 lbs

· Perform tasks in a sitting down position for extended periods of time

· Vision and hearing necessary to perform required tasks
