By applying, you'll be considered as future positions become available and will have the opportunity to learn more about RTI and our team.\nRTI's Operations Project Managers are experienced professionals with backgrounds in petroleum refining and chemical processing operations. They partner closely with refinery operations teams and turnaround professionals to develop and execute process unit shutdown, clearing, decontamination, and chemical cleaning strategies. Our team plays a critical role in helping customers safely and efficiently prepare units for maintenance, inspection, and turnaround activities.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nLeads and builds diverse teams of people (RTI, client, other contractors, etc.) during implementation of a project designed to execute clearing and cleaning activities in refineries. \nIndependently creates, reviews, and implements MOC-level clearing and cleaning plans using computer-based documents and developer programs, and in-depth industry knowledge.\nFollows and implements best practices through consistent use of RTI’s project planning and execution Roadmap.\nTrains appropriate client personnel on RTI’s cleaning and clearing strategies, acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.\nFollows-up with clients to ensure that we meet or exceed their expectations; communicates results internally and resolves shortfalls.\nConducts business in a safe manner consistent with RTI’s Core Behaviors, with an emphasis on a servant's heart and competitive urgency.\nBuilds key relationships with multiple levels of employees at our client companies.\nControls costs through daily prudent decisions.\nIdentifies and implements operational efficiencies both internally (RTI) and externally (client) by taking a new perspective on existing solutions.\nEnsures that effective JSAs are completed and reviewed and adheres to all client site entry and safety requirements.\nOnsite safety liaison for projects in his/her control, performs work safely in all plant settings; identifies potential safety incidents, escalates, and mitigates as necessary to prevent incidents from occurring; communicates to clients and internally to share lessons learned.\nCompletes Incident Reports and participates in cause finding and corrective action.\nCompletes all project close out tasks and documentation. \nSupervisory Responsibilities\nOn some occasions will be a Lead Operations Project Manager, having responsibility for others on the team.\nProvides direction to part-time Operations Project Technicians. \nRequirements\nMinimum Qualifications\n5 + years of refinery, upgrader, gas plants or chemical plant operations experience, and/or successful completion of Process Technician program.\n2 years of experience independently and efficiently planning projects.\n2 years of experience diagnosing and solving complex operational problems in a refinery setting.\nSuccessful completion of Execution Level 3 and Planning Level 4 of the RTI OPM Certification Roadmap.\nKnowledge and understanding of complex process units and piping circuits gained through refinery operator experience.\nDemonstrated ability to quickly master software tools.\nHistory of consistently safe work practices in operational settings.\nDemonstrated ability to clearly and confidently communicate plans to plant personnel at multiple organizational levels.\nAdditional or Preferred Qualifications\n1 year of experience in a lead turnaround role strongly preferred.\nDemonstrated evidence of RTI core behaviors:\nDisplaying a servant’s heart: helping others, giving credit, humility in our actions and words, and appreciation for the contributions of others.\nExhibiting enthusiasm: strong work ethic, investment in relationships, driven to excel.\nLead with empathy: care and compassion in our interactions, connect everyone’s gifts with organization and client needs, listening actively and responding thoughtfully.\nWorking Conditions / Physical Demands\nThe Company requires passing a pre-employment physical in which an objective medical professional will determine whether you can safely meet the physical demands of the position.\nDuration of Workhours During Project Executions:\nTypically, 12 continuous hours that may extend up to 16 - 18 hours if an emergency need exists, for up to 14 days in a row.\nDay shift and/or night shift.\nWorking Conditions During Project Executions:\nUneven or unstable ground, and wet, muddy, or slippery surfaces and footings.\nOutside locations in extreme temperatures and weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and other forms of inclement weather.\nRoutine, intermittent exposure to noise more than 85 dBA-TWA.\nPhysical Demands:\nWork at heights up to 200 ft/ 45m accessed via stairs, climbing ladders, or critical lifts by cranes. This requires an ability to climb ladders and stairs without issue.\nLifting and carrying up to 40lbs., without assistance.\nPushing / pulling up to 100 lbs., without assistance.\nStanding and walking for up to 12 to 16 hours daily with minimal rest breaks.
