Our mission: make intelligence open and accessible to all.\nRole Overview\nAs Controller, you’ll build the accounting function from the ground up. You own the close, technical accounting, financial reporting, and the internal controls that make all of it trustworthy. You’ll navigate complex deal structures across sovereign and enterprise contracts, manage the external audit relationship, and oversee equity accounting as our programs scale. You’ll own tax compliance and strategy, partner with legal and finance on entity structure, and build the accounting and tax teams beneath you. This role reports to the VP of Finance.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn the month-end and quarter-end close - accuracy, timeliness, and improving both\n\nLead all technical accounting determinations: revenue recognition, equity, leases, and novel deal structures\n\nOwn global tax strategy, planning, and compliance - federal, state, and international\n\nManage the external audit relationship end-to-end; own the audit timeline and deliverables\n\nBuild and maintain internal controls and financial reporting infrastructure\n\nPartner with legal on entity structure and transfer pricing\n\nOversee AP, AR, payroll, and treasury operations\n\nBuild the accounting and tax teams beneath you\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n7-10+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience\n\nCPA required; Big 4 background strongly preferred\n\nDeep technical accounting expertise - ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 842, ASC 360 and the judgment to handle what's not in the textbook\n\nExperience owning a close process and an audit at a high-growth technology company\n\nDemonstrated ability to build an accounting function from scratch, including team, systems, and processes\n\nComfortable navigating ambiguity in deal structures and translating complexity into clear accounting positions\n\nStrong technical foundation in federal and international tax, with exposure to multi-entity or multinational structures\n\nInternational experience, including transfer pricing and cross-border operations\n\nWhat We Offer:\nWe believe that to make intelligence open and accessible to all, you need to start at the foundation.
