Responsibilities include:
- Own the on-site technical-functional SAP landscape, including architecture, custom developments, integrations and business-critical processes.
- Quickly understand and reverse-engineer the existing ECC environment, particularly where documentation or institutional knowledge is limited.
- Provide senior-level production support / AMS, including incident and problem management, RCA, troubleshooting, enhancements and resolution of business-critical issues.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across ABAP, interfaces, jobs, RFCs, extractors, batch processes and third-party integrations.
- Provide strong technical leadership across SAP BW, including data flows, extractors, transformations, loads and ECC-BW dependencies.
- Provide hands-on ABAP debugging, development, enhancement and technical troubleshooting.
- Understand and navigate cross-module dependencies, particularly MM, SD/AFS and FICO.
- Work effectively to drive issues through to resolution.
Primary Skills:
- Architect-level expertise in SAP ECC AFS, with a strong techno-functional understanding of ECC across modules.
- Deep AFS experience is essential; general ECC experience alone would not be enough.
- Ability to work directly with the business team in Buffalo, understand their needs, and explain how those needs translate into SAP solutions.
- Experience leading solution design for complex requirements and critical production issues.
- Ability to guide the functional and ABAP teams on the solution and what needs to be developed.
- Hands-on ABAP coding is not required.
Secondary Skills:
- Knowledge of BW on HANA, Snowflake, Azure, and S/4HANA migration would be a plus.
- The engagement could start on-site in Buffalo and later transition offshore, or remain on-site longer term.
