(RSI) is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Assistant Project Managerto support refractory construction projects from planning through closeout. Working under general management, this role keeps project documentation, schedules, materials, financial data, communications, and follow-up activities organized and current.\nWhat the Role Does\nPlan, coordinate, and close out industrial construction and refractory projects of varying size and complexity. \nHelp develop and maintain installation plans, schedules, task lists, job procedures, and action items. \nCommunicate with field operations, estimating, procurement, suppliers, and other stakeholders; escalate issues as needed to ensure timelines are met.\nPrepare and maintain accurate project files, status updates, material tracking, and many other records/reports. \nEstablish/track project milestones, deadlines, risks, and open items, following up with stakeholders on potential delays or cost impacts. \nPrepare requests, monitor material and service needs, coordinate deliveries, and confirm required docs. \nAssist with budget, purchase order, invoice, and actual v. estimate tracking.\nSupport scope review, change proposals, contract documents, and customer deliverables. \nPrepare and distribute project schedules, progress updates, meeting minutes, closeout documents, and other reports using Excel and other systems. \nWhat You Bring\nKnowledge, Education\nWorking knowledge of construction, project coordination, or related business processes\nAssociate degree in construction management, project management, engineering, or a related field is desired\nConstruction safety or entry-level PM training is a plus\nOSHA-10 certification preferred\n\nExperience\n3 years of related experience in construction, project management, or a similar environment\nCombined education and experience will be considered\nIndustrial construction or refractory experience is a plus\nSkills, Abilities\nMeet RSI's Core Competencies.\nWillingness to learn from experienced project and field team members.\nCustomer-focused and committed to timely, accurate follow-through.\nHighly organized, dependable, and detail oriented, with the ability to maintain multiple projects and priorities.\nAble to identify issues, gather information, problem solve, and seek guidance when needed.\nFlexible and able to adjust to changing customer needs, schedules, and field conditions.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ability to develop skills and learn construction and PM processes.\nStrong listening, verbal, presentation, listening, and written communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively in office and job-site environments while maintaining safety awareness.\nWork Environment/Schedule\nOffice environment with shop interaction\nTravel to job sites as needed (typical jobsites located in Midwest) to support coordination, understand conditions, and ensure safety and quality \nAbout Us\nRSI is a full-service refractory contractor specializing in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of refractory systems for high-temperature industrial processes.
