Come build it with us.\nTHE ROLE\nWe’re hiring a Construction Materials Procurement & Supply Chain Lead to own the flow of materials from design decision to installation, across both the factory and the field.\nThis is a player-coach role. You will roll up your sleeves to run a lot of the day-to-day work (RFQs, POs, expedites, supplier management) for active single- and multi-family residential projects. In parallel, design the simple, reliable procurement and inventory system that future projects and factories can run on.\nREQUIREMENTS\nMake sure materials never stall the schedule\nOwn material availability for both factory and jobsite, from permit set through installation.\n\nBuild and run a clear playbook for long-lead items so projects are not delayed by materials.\n\nReduce stockouts in kitting and on the floor by setting and managing min/max levels and reorder logic for stocked parts.\n\nBuild the procurement & inventory “operating system”\nTurn today’s bill of materials, purchase logs, and ad-hoc processes into a documented, teachable process that goes from permit set → BOM → RFQs → POs → receiving → kitting → project closeout.\n\nConsult with software and finance teams on our bill of materials and materials data standards: part numbering, stock vs off-the-shelf rules, and how BOMs must be structured to be procurable and traceable.\n\nStand up a simple but robust inventory tracking approach using Google Sheets + QuickBooks + existing tools, and use it as the basis for future ERP / WMS requirements.\n\nLead supplier strategy for construction materials\nSource and manage suppliers for structural lumber, sheathing, windows, doors, cabinets, MEP equipment, finishes, and other construction materials - for both factory and field.\n\nNegotiate pricing, terms, and programs; launch 2-3 strategic supplier relationships in high-impact categories (e.g., windows, cabinets, structural lumber).\n\nDecide when to buy-to-job versus buy-to-stock, balancing cash, space, and risk.\n\nBe embedded with designers, engineers, and operations\nWork closely with cross-functional teams to connect material choices to cost, lead-time, installation effort, and supply-risk.\n\nPropose and analyze material alternatives and supplier options; co-decide on changes that affect building systems, permitting, or installation.\n\nPartner with Factory Operations, Production, and Site Operations to ensure material plans actually work on the floor and on site.\n\nShape our future systems\nTranslate real-world workflows into clear requirements for a future ERP / WMS, in partnership with Software Teams and Finance.\n\nAct as the primary operational stakeholder when we evaluate and implement more advanced systems in the next 1-2 years.\n\nWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR\nProjects hit key milestones without material-driven delays.\n\nA working procurement + inventory playbook is in place and used by the team.\n\nWe have a clear, accurate view of inventory and material spend that can be used in internal reviews and board discussions.\n\nAt least 2-3 strategic supplier programs are live with measurable improvements in cost, lead-time, or reliability.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n7-12+ years in supply chain, procurement, or inventory roles in:\nConstruction, modular/off-site construction, building products, or adjacent manufacturing.\n\nYou’ve been both:\nThe person doing the work - running RFQs, placing POs, managing suppliers, fixing stockouts.\n\nThe person designing or significantly upgrading the processes and data structures behind that work.\n\nYou’ve lived through at least one ERP / WMS implementation or major upgrade as the operations or supply-chain lead customer.\n\nYou are comfortable starting with scrappy tools (Sheets, QuickBooks, basic databases) and using them to design the next level of system, not the other way around.\n\nYou like writing things down: checklists, runbooks, processes, and standards that others can follow.\n\nYou collaborate well with:\nDesigners and engineers who care about performance and constructability.\n\nFactory and field leaders who care about throughput and predictability.\n\nFinance and Tech teams who need clear, specific requirements.\n\nBONUS IF YOU HAVE:\nExperience in volumetric modular, panelized building, or factory-based construction.\n\nFamiliarity with light-wood framing, building envelope systems, and MEP equipment.\n\nExperience with project-based costing and connecting material usage to project economics.\n\nPrior work in a startup or high-growth environment where you had to build systems while delivering against live projects.\n\nReframe Systems is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
