This role is responsible for developing a culture of daily management, structured problem solving, accountability, and continuous improvement while driving transformational improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, and employee engagement.\nThe leader will partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality,\nEngineering, and Materials teams to optimize factory layouts, improve material flow, reduce lead times, and establish sustainable operational excellence practices across both facilities.\nThis role will serve as a key architect in building a lean manufacturing culture founded on visual management, leader standard work, tiered accountability, and employee-led problem solving.\nKey Responsibilities\nDrive the Daily Management System\nDesign, implement, and sustain a robust Daily Management System (DMS) across Simi Valley and CUU.\nEstablish tiered accountability meetings and visual management processes from the production floor through plant leadership.\nDevelop meaningful KPIs focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, Productivity, and People.\nDrive leader standard work and accountability routines.\nEnsure performance gaps are identified and acted upon through disciplined escalation processes.\nBuild a Problem-Solving Culture\nDevelop site-wide capability in structured problem solving methodologies.\nCoach leaders and teams in root cause analysis, A3 thinking, 8D, 5 Why, and PDCA methodologies.\nFacilitate cross-functional improvement events focused on eliminating recurring operational issues.\nBuild organizational capability to solve problems at the lowest possible level.\nDrive a culture where issues are surfaced, solved, and permanently eliminated.\nOptimize Manufacturing Flow & Facility Layouts\nLead current-state and future-state value stream mapping activities.\nDesign manufacturing layouts to improve material flow, reduce transportation waste, and optimize labor efficiency.\nPartner with Materials, Operations, and Engineering teams to create pull-based replenishment systems.\nImprove warehouse, supermarket, point-of-use inventory, and production flow strategies.\nDrive factory flow improvements that support higher throughput, improved on-time delivery, and reduced lead times.\nLead facility redesign and footprint optimization initiatives supporting future growth.\nLead Lean Transformation Initiatives\nIdentify and prioritize strategic improvement opportunities across both operations.\nFacilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops.\nImplement Lean Manufacturing tools including: Standard Work, Visual Management, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Cell Design, Pull Systems, Kanban, SMED, Total Productive Maintenance\nEstablish sustainable governance and continuous improvement roadmaps.\nDevelop Team Capability\nCoach plant leaders in Lean leadership behaviors and continuous improvement principles.\nBuild internal CI champions across functions and sites.\nDeliver training programs supporting operational excellence and problem-solving capability.\nFoster employee engagement and ownership of continuous improvement initiatives.\nSuccess Measures\nImproved Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory performance.\nIncreased Daily Management System maturity across both sites.\nReduction in lead times and manufacturing cycle times.\nImproved material flow and inventory productivity.\nIncreased employee engagement in problem solving and continuous improvement.\nSuccessful deployment of visual management and tiered accountability systems.\nMeasurable productivity improvements and waste elimination across operations.\nTravel up to 30% between Simi Valley, CA and Chihuahua, MX\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field.\n7+ years of manufacturing, operational excellence, or continuous improvement leadership experience.\nDemonstrated success deploying Lean Manufacturing systems in complex manufacturing environments.\nExperience leading plant-wide transformation initiatives.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing flow, factory design, and material movement optimization.\nProven ability to coach leaders and drive cultural change.\nPreferred\nAerospace or highly engineered manufacturing experience.\nMulti-site manufacturing leadership experience.\nLean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification.\nExperience working in U.S. and Mexico manufacturing environments preferred.\nAdvanced knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, and Lean Enterprise Systems.\nExpected Base Salary Range: [$165,000 - $190,000]\nThe salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position.
