We want you to join us.\nOur Tech Stack:\nBackend: Python, Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery\n\nFrontend: TypeScript, React\n\nInfrastructure & DevOps: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, Datadog\n\nAI: OpenAI, Anthropic\n\nClinical standards: FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm\n\nResponsibilities:\nCollaborate with product, design, and clinicians to design medium-to-large projects, often starting from an ambiguous problem statement and balancing speed to market, user experience, business goals, and technical architecture quality\n\nOwn backend services and drive improvements across system design, observability, testing, performance, and support\n\nModel clinical data and design the schemas and service contracts that new product surfaces are built on\n\nWork directly with clinicians to understand what a diagnosis requires, and turn that intent into logic and tooling they can extend themselves\n\nMentor and review code from other developers across backend services\n\nMaintain and improve the quality of the codebase and tooling in your area of responsibility through proactive fixes and by proposing projects that improve the overall backend codebase\n\nParticipate in operational activities including on-call, monitoring, and production support\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS in Computer Science or equivalent experience\n\n6+ years of professional experience with software development\n\nProficient in Python or Go with demonstrated ability to write and maintain production-quality code\n\nProven experience building data-intensive applications, backed by strong data fluency in designing and evolving schemas consumed across cross-functional teams\n\nAble to participate in on-call operational support for your areas of responsibility\n\nAble to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeks\n\nPractical experience leveraging AI coding tools in day-to-day software development (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex)\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExposure to clinical or healthcare data (e.g., FHIR, EMR integrations, clinical terminologies, or revenue cycle)\n\nComfortable with systems that produce ranked, scored, or probabilistic output and evaluating that output against imperfect ground truth\n\nExperience in a startup and/or high-growth environments\n\nExperience building tools for non-engineer domain experts\n\nExperience managing cloud infrastructure and LLM integrations\n\nExperience working on a mature enterprise SaaS product\n\nHybrid Work | Location | Work Authorization\nFor this role, Regard is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and are within the New York City metro area, San Francisco Bay Area, or Los Angeles\n\nOur expectation for this role is to be in the office 2 days per week.
