We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Protein Development Group within Therapeutic Proteins, supporting therapeutic discovery and development programs by purifying and characterizing antibodies and other protein reagents. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment, using chromatography, analytical techniques, and automated equipment to deliver high-quality protein reagents and well-documented experimental data.\nThis position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.\nWhen & where:\nLocation: Tarrytown, NY\nWork model: On-site\nDiscover your role:\nPurifies antibodies and other protein reagents using chromatography platforms and automated laboratory equipment\nExecutes and optimizes purification workflows using affinity, ion-exchange, hydrophobic interaction, and size-exclusion chromatography\nCharacterizes purified proteins using SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, CE-SDS, analytical SEC, spectrophotometry, and related techniques\nEvaluates protein purity, concentration, recovery, aggregation, and overall sample quality\nAnalyzes results and maintains accurate, timely experimental records in ELN and data recording systems\nSummarizes and presents purification and characterization data to managers, project teams, and scientific collaborators\nTroubleshoots technical challenges in collaboration with colleagues\nManages multiple assignments and priorities while maintaining data quality and sample integrity\nThis role requires:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline\n0-2 years of relevant academic, internship, or industry laboratory experience in protein purification or characterization\nHands-on experience with one or more purification techniques, such as affinity chromatography, IEX, HIC, or SEC\nExperience with one or more protein characterization techniques, such as HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, CE-SDS, SEC, or spectrophotometry\nAbility to analyze experimental data and maintain accurate electronic laboratory records\nStrong organizational, written and verbal communication skills\nPreferred qualifications:\nExperience purifying monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, or other complex protein formats\nExperience using ÄKTA chromatography systems\nFamiliarity with automated purification or sample-processing equipment and experience working in a high-throughput or project-driven laboratory environment\nFamiliarity with basic programming or scripting (e.g., Python or R) and an interest in applying computational tools to scientific data analysis and laboratory workflow improvement\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team\nDoes this sound like you?
