This role will report to the Director Benefits.\nThis position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.\nWhen & where:\nLocation: Sleepy Hollow, New York or Rensselaer, New York, United States\nWork model: Onsite 4 days a week\nTravel percentage: Travel to other New York offices approximately once a month\nDiscover your role:\nThe ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in administering employee benefit programs, with the ability to understand the end-to-end process. They will have the ability to understand complex benefit issues, how to navigate and bring to resolution.\n Benefits Administration - Oversee day-to-day operations of employee benefits programs (health plans and additional benefits), ensuring timely enrollment, compliance, and accurate processing of transactions; serve as the point of escalation for complex benefits issues and inquiries.\nTeam Leadership - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of benefits specialists, providing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities while fostering a positive, inclusive team environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.\n Compliance and Reporting - Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA), overseeing preparation and submission of required reports to regulatory agencies; stay current on changing laws, advising leadership and updating policies and procedures as needed in partnership with appropriate stakeholders.\nVendor Management - Manage relationships with benefits vendors and third-party administrators, negotiating contracts, monitoring service levels, and evaluating performance through regular meetings that surface issues and opportunities to improve the employee and administrator experience.\nStrategic Planning - Collaborate with HR leadership to design and implement benefits strategies aligned with organizational goals, analyzing data and trends to identify cost-saving and program-enhancement opportunities while championing initiatives that promote employee well-being and engagement.\nCommunication and Education - Develop clear communication materials and organize informational sessions, workshops, and open enrollment events to educate employees on their benefits options and ensure a positive experience; address employee inquiries directly.\n Cross-Functional Partnership - Collaborate with the Law Department and partner with the HR service center.\nThis role requires:\nBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in employee benefits management with hands-on experience, including leading a team\nExperience administering a self-insured health plan including plan design and budgeting\nStrong presentation skills. Putting together clear, professional presentations that can be delivered to employees new in their careers and to seasoned executives\nAbility to think through complex issues using foundational knowledge of legal requirements and previous experience; and ability to think outside of the obvious\nCertified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or similar credentials preferred\nStrong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations\nExceptional leadership and team management abilities\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills\nProficiency in HRIS systems and benefits-related software and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft suite\nDoes this sound like you?
