The Quality and EHS Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the safety, environmental, quality, and continuous improvement objectives of the eFRAME manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs while also leading quality assurance initiatives related to incoming materials, nonconformance management, process improvement, and manufacturing quality systems.

The successful candidate will serve as a key partner to Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to ensure a safe workplace, maintain regulatory compliance, improve product quality, reduce waste, and drive operational excellence through Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities:

Quality Engineering & Manufacturing Support

  • Lead and continuously improve incoming material inspection processes, inspection plans, quality standards, and validation activities to ensure material conformity and support new product introductions.
  • Own the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including nonconforming material management, containment actions, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and disposition of affected products.
  • Partner with suppliers, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues, improve supplier performance, and support supplier qualification activities.
  • Analyze quality metrics, scrap, cost of poor quality (COPQ), and process performance data to identify opportunities for defect reduction, yield improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Support quality management systems by maintaining inspection and calibration programs, participating in audits, establishing Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) controls, and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and structured problem-solving methodologies.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Lead and maintain OSHA-required safety programs, EHS compliance initiatives, and site environmental management systems while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and Rehlko safety standards.
  • Conduct EHS audits, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action programs to proactively identify hazards, reduce risk, and improve workplace safety performance.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, employee engagement initiatives, ergonomics projects, emergency response programs, and continuous improvement activities that strengthen the site's safety culture.
  • Serve as the primary site liaison for environmental compliance activities, including permitting, regulatory inspections, waste, air and water programs, technical reporting, spill response, and interactions with government agencies and community stakeholders.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data analytics, root cause problem-solving, visual management, and cross-functional collaboration to improve safety, quality, productivity, process standardization, waste reduction, and overall manufacturing performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing Quality Engineering, EHS, or a combination of both.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements, manufacturing quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management tools within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting heavy manufacturing, fabrication, welding, assembly, or industrial equipment environments, including supplier quality, incoming inspection, and new product launch or plant startup activities.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 management systems, internal auditing, and EHS management software such as Gensuite.
  • Professional certifications such as CQE, CQA, ASQ CMQ/OE, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

The Salary range for this position is $89,800.00-$114,100.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
