As the Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineer, you will bridge data modeling and analytics to transform raw data into high-quality, reliable data assets to empower self-serve analysis, reporting, and data science. And, with the skills you gain in this role, the opportunities are endless - from a rewarding career in Digital Technology to continued growth and development with Aritzia.\nTHE ROLE\nAs the Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineer, Digital Technology, you will:\nDesign, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time) that power data and insights\n\nBuild and manage robust ETL/ELT data workflows, ensuring reliable ingestion, transformation, and integration of customer data from diverse sources\n\nEstablish and enforce data quality, governance, privacy, and security standards, with a focus on trusted and compliant data\n\nDrive the evolution of digital data architecture, improving platform reliability, scalability, and performance to support growing data volumes and expanding use cases\n\nDevelop complex SQL transformations to create beautifully designed and widely used data models\n\nEmbed and enrich business logic to unify the analysis of cross functional teams\n\nDesign and recommend data model structure and flow\n\nReview and approve model changes and be the technical owner for specific data sub-domains\n\nCreate in Google Cloud Platform and Dataform (Google’s version of dbt)\n\nMentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices, data standards, and operational excellence\n\nTHE QUALIFICATIONS\nThe Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineer, Digital Technology has:\nProven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications in computer science, software development, and/or data engineering\n\nProficiency in at least one programming language and excellent SQL skills\n\nProficient in delivering modern cloud solutions across major platforms, with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) being preferred\n\nExperience with modern data warehousing solutions (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and orchestration tools (Airflow)\n\nProficient in integration patterns like Event-Driven Architecture and Pub/Sub\n\nCuriosity to leverage AI to accelerate workflows and generate business solutions\n\nStrong business modelling skills: going from expressed requirements to an actual data model\n\nA commitment to learn and apply Aritzia's Values, Business and People Leadership principles\n\nThe ability to collaborate fluently with cross-functional partners\n\nA commitment to quality and investing in results that add value to the business\n\nTHE COMPENSATION\nAt Aritzia, we provide market-leading compensation packages designed to reward impact through our pay-for-performance philosophy. The range for roles at this level is $100,000-$300,000 per year. Total compensation may include base, bonus and/or equity depending on the role, which has the potential to be greater than this range.
