This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to build hands-on experience with modern DevOps technologies while supporting mission-critical federal applications.\nThe Associate DevOps Engineer will work alongside experienced DevOps, software engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to support CI/CD pipelines, AWS cloud environments, containerized applications, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and production operations.\nThe ideal candidate has foundational hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, Kubernetes or Docker, scripting, Linux, Infrastructure as Code, and application support and is interested in developing deeper DevOps and cloud engineering expertise.\nDevOps Engineering & Automation\nSupport the development, maintenance, and improvement of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery tools.\nAssist with the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) used to provision and manage cloud environments.\nSupport the deployment and operation of containerized applications and microservices using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS, and/or OpenShift.\nDevelop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, Groovy, or similar scripting languages.\nAssist with application and microservice deployments across development, test, staging, and production environments.\nWork with software development and DevOps engineers to troubleshoot application, configuration, deployment, and infrastructure issues.\nFollow established DevOps standards, processes, and security practices.\nLearn and apply emerging cloud, DevOps, and automation technologies.\nProduction Operations & Reliability\nSupport the availability, reliability, and performance of production and non-production environments.\nAssist with incident, problem, and change management activities.\nMonitor applications, infrastructure, servers, networks, and cloud services and escalate issues when appropriate.\nAssist with operating system patching, security remediation, vulnerability management, and environment upgrades.\nSupport monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability tools.\nAnalyze logs and monitoring data to assist with troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation as required, with support from senior engineering team members.\nAssist with maintaining operational documentation, procedures, dashboards, and system health metrics.\nQualifications\n0-2 years of relevant DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or IT infrastructure experience.\nFoundational understanding of CI/CD concepts and software deployment pipelines.\nExposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.\nFamiliarity with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and/or OpenShift.\nFamiliarity with AWS cloud services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, and/or EKS.\nExposure to Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.\nExperience or coursework involving scripting using Bash, Python, Groovy, or similar languages.\nFamiliarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.\nUnderstanding of source code and version control systems such as Git.\nExposure to monitoring and logging technologies such as AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, Splunk, or similar platforms.\nExposure to Java and/or Node.js web applications, including technologies such as Spring Boot and React, is a plus.\nBasic understanding of networking, application infrastructure, and troubleshooting concepts.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.\nDemonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and develop DevOps and cloud engineering skills.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.\nClearance: Candidate must be a US Citizen to support this federal project and able to obtain and maintain a
