The Business Analyst will work closely with government stakeholders, product owners, software engineers, QA professionals, and other members of the Agile delivery team to understand business needs, translate requirements into actionable user stories, and support the delivery and modernization of mission-critical applications.\nThe ideal candidate has experience supporting federal technology programs, working within Agile software development teams, and translating complex business and operational requirements into clear functional requirements for technical teams.\nResponsibilities\nPartner with DHS stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.\nTranslate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, and functional requirements.\nFacilitate requirements-gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, working sessions, and backlog refinement activities.\nWork closely with Java/React software development and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.\nSupport product owners with backlog development, prioritization, refinement, and sprint planning.\nAnalyze existing business processes and applications and identify opportunities for process improvement and modernization.\nDocument current-state and future-state workflows, business rules, system interactions, and functional dependencies.\nServe as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.\nAssist QA teams in understanding business requirements and developing appropriate acceptance criteria and test scenarios.\nSupport user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, release readiness, and production implementation activities.\nMaintain requirements traceability and ensure delivered functionality aligns with approved business needs.\nCommunicate project risks, dependencies, issues, and requirement changes to appropriate stakeholders.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. \n3-6 years of experience working as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role supporting software development or application modernization. \nExperience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements. \nExperience developing user stories and acceptance criteria in an Agile environment. \nUnderstanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies. \nExperience collaborating with software developers, QA engineers, product owners, and government/business stakeholders. \nExperience with requirements and work-management tools such as Jira and Confluence or similar platforms. \nStrong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. \nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative federal contracting environment. \nAbility to meet DHS suitability and contract requirements. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience supporting DHS or another federal civilian agency. \nExperience supporting federal application modernization or digital transformation programs. \nFamiliarity with web applications built using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, React, REST APIs, and relational databases. \nExperience supporting UAT, test planning, or software release activities. \nFamiliarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD environments. \nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.\nClearance: Candidate must be a US Citizen to support this federal project and able to obtain and maintain a Clearance.\nLocation: Hybrid (2 Day per week in our Sterling,
