Do you thrive in an environment where accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement are valued?\nJoin RCL as an Assistant Controller and play a key role in supporting financial reporting, accounting operations, compliance, and internal controls for one of Canada's leading specialty retailers.\nWorking alongside the Controller and Finance leadership team, you'll contribute to the integrity of our financial reporting while helping drive process improvements and supporting the organization's strategic objectives.\nWhat You'll Do\nSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.\nPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, analyses, and financial schedules.\nAssist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting disclosures in accordance with IFRS.\nCoordinate and support external audit activities, including responding to auditor requests and preparing required documentation.\nAssist with corporate tax compliance, tax provisions, and various regulatory filings.\nMonitor accounting standards and assess the impact of new accounting and reporting requirements.\nSupport the development and maintenance of internal controls, policies, and financial reporting processes.\nIdentify opportunities to improve efficiencies, automate processes, and strengthen reporting capabilities.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise and support key business initiatives.\nCoach and mentor members of the accounting team while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment.\n CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting designation).\n5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting, or corporate finance.\nStrong knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation.\nExperience supporting external audits and working with internal controls.\nUnderstanding of corporate taxation and compliance requirements.\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP systems.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.\nA continuous improvement mindset with a passion for process optimization.\nBilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.\nThis is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic Canadian organization while expanding your technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.\nYou'll work on complex and rewarding projects, gain exposure to senior leadership, contribute to strategic business decisions, and help shape the future of Finance at RCL.
