With a parent company boasting more than 80 years of engineering expertise, we are proud to bring Nordic engineering heritage to the region blending cutting-edge technology with a longstanding tradition of quality and reliability.\nWe are now looking for Lead Design Engineer, Civil & Structural to lead the discipline to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE.\nReports To\nThe Lead Design Engineer, Civil & Structural reports to the assigned Head of Discipline, Civil & Structural.\nJob Overview\nThe Lead Engineer should have gained proven experience in design and engineering right from planning stage till execution which includes FEED verification, planning of MH & MP, resource management, lead the development of key deliverables, conducting various stage design reviews, progress monitoring and control.\nIn your role you are expected to demonstrate your proven track record in maintaining proper resourcing in terms of capacity and competence as well as in well organizing projects with proper work sharing, tracking of progress & coordination with Inter disciplines and counter parts/client.\nYou will be responsible for leading projects (as Lead Engineer) as and when required, handling engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional and specific knowledge in oil & gas.\nIn your role you will execute civil structural design deliverables in projects while complying to safety, within budget and schedule and with quality.\nYou should have a desire to work on multi-disciplinary local as well overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by leading assigned discipline designers and engineers.\nHunger for learning and sharing new ideas will be the cornerstone of your success. We also value people for whom safety are part of their professional skills.\nResponsibilities and Duties\nDirect the employees and supervision of work related to Civil/structural and associated works.\n\nCoordinate with Project Managers for resolution of related issues.\n\nMaintain the Line Managers daily diary and reports of team members.\n\nCoordinate and report to the reporting authority / manager on specific subjects including resourcing, technical issues, project progress, efficiency and performance of the resources / discipline.\n\nResponsible for maintaining quality and technical correctness through reviewing all drawings, design proposals, method statements, any requests for information relating to the civil/structural works.\n\nCoordinate with client, sub-contractors and related concerned authorities.\n\nConvene and chair regular team meetings about issues related to civil structural work and related activities.\n\nEnsure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.\n\nEnsure accuracy and completeness of records.\n\nEnsure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.\n\nAct positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site, as required by the Project Safety Representatives.\n\nComply with safety, health and risk management requirements.\n\nProvide all necessary on-site direction and issue work instructions for civil/structural and other related activities.\n\nCheck and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs programmed work.\n\nPrepare progress reports as applicable.\n\nParticipate in estimation for sales enquiries and provide required support for bidding\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering with 15 years minimum Oil & Gas experience and minimum 8 years in Lead role\n\nGood verbal as well written communication skills, leadership and coordination, analytic and pro-active approach competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.\n\nWillingness to overcome challenges and pressure during peak of project.\n\nWilling to do extensive site-surveys during project execution.\n\nUAE local experience is added value.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\n\nFluent in the English language\n\nShares the company values of teamwork, transparency, honesty, and equality\n\nTeam player, hardworking, problem solver and have a can-do attitude\n\nMeets UAE visa requirements\n\nOur work is guided by our vision: Home of the learning minds.
