Intern Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Assist with recording daily financial transactions, including payments, receipts, invoices, and expenses.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ledgers, and accounting documents.
• Assist in preparing invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other financial documentation.
• Perform basic data entry and ensure accounting information is accurate and up to date.
• Support bank reconciliations and the verification of financial transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities, including tracking outstanding payments.
• Help prepare financial reports, expense summaries, and accounting schedules.
• Organise and maintain financial files, records, and supporting documents for easy retrieval.
• Assist with monitoring company expenses and comparing actual spending against budgets.
• Support payroll preparation and the documentation of staff-related expenses where required.
• Assist with tax documentation and other statutory financial records under supervision.
• Help verify invoices, receipts, and other supporting documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

• HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progress towards ICAN or ANAN certification is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Accounting software experience is an added advantage.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills, punctuality, and reliability.
• Ability to meet deadlines and flag issues promptly.
