Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.\nJoining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.\nAbout the Team: \nThe Launch team operates at the intersection of every major aspect of Terran R, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. The Cape is the only place where you see it all come together, offering a level of exposure and responsibility unmatched elsewhere in the program. This is where first flights happen, where history is built on top of history, and where the scale of what's underway is unlike anything in modern aerospace. The mission stays the same, but the work evolves with every milestone: from first launch to reuse, high-cadence operations, and beyond. If you're looking to define what's next in space launch and write a new playbook, not just repeat what’s already been done, this is where it happens.\n\nAbout the Role:\nAs a Launch Pad Technician II, you’ll help ensure the safe and successful execution of launch pad development, launch operations, and pad maintenance between flights. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and support teams to build, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot critical pad systems. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will be key to keeping launch operations safe, efficient, and on schedule.\nExecute launch pad development, launch operations, and maintenance activities involving process tubing, high-pressure gas systems, mechanical systems, and launch day operations.\n\nInterpret engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation to fabricate, assemble, install, operate, and maintain fluid systems and mechanical components.\n\nSupport launch countdown operations, including integrated testing, system activation, and live launch activities while maintaining clear communication in time-sensitive environments.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex pad hardware issues, working with engineering and leadership to identify solutions and implement corrective actions.\n\nCollaborate with engineering and management to develop safe and effective operating procedures and continuously improve processes, quality, efficiency, and operational cadence.\n\nMentor and support team members by sharing knowledge, providing constructive feedback, and promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, and technical excellence.\n\nPerform additional launch site tasks as assigned, which may include working outdoors, standing for extended periods, and operating equipment as needed.\n\n About You:\n1+ years of experience in aerospace operations, manufacturing, maintenance, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nStrong attention to detail and a desire to solve complex hardware and operational problems.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with software systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.\n\nAbility to work a flexible schedule based on operational timelines, launch schedules, and mission cadence.\n\nAbility to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach lifts, man lifts, or similar equipment.\n\nPrior experience working as a technician, mechanic, or in a hands-on technical role.\n\nNice to Haves but Not Required:\nExperience working with cryogenic systems.\n\nExperience with lifting and crane operations.\n\nExperience with general facility maintenance.\n\nExperience with construction, demolition, or similar site activities.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot and solve problems involving electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing systems.\n\nSuccessful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida. \n\nAt Relativity Space, we are committed to transparency and fairness in our compensation practices. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.\nCompensation is only one part of our total rewards package. Relativity Space offers competitive salary and equity, a generous PTO and sick leave policy, parental leave, an annual learning and development stipend, and more!
