This position provides assistance and input to management, develops and leads large multi-functional development activities, solves complex technical problems, writes complex code for computer systems, and serves as a senior source of expertise. The position may also provide sizing or budget recommendations to management.\nResponsibilities:\nServe as a primary technical point of contact for external technology resources.\n\nWork directly with customers and end users.\n\nServe as acknowledged “go to” person on coding, technical, and data management issues.\n\nInterface with other technical personnel or team members to document, interpret, and finalize requirements.\n\nProduce code that is efficient, repeatable, without defects, and adherent to best practices such as naming conventions, encapsulation, etc.\n\nWrite and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.\n\nComplete complex bug fixes and technical issues. Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly.\n\nDesign and work with complex data models.\n\nMentor lead data engineers interested in consultancy on development methodologies and optimization techniques.\n\nWork with QA/Testing staff, project managers, technical leads, and subject matter experts to plan and execute automated and performance tests.\n\nDevelop and execute automated and performance scripts for assigned projects to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality products and services on time, on budget, and to specification.\n\nConduct code and project reviews, ensuring review criteria are defined, and implement procedures for ensuring quality control of project deliverables.\n\nRequirements:\n10+ years engineering experience, data strategy experience and data management required.\n\nBachelor’s Degree (Engineering/Computer Science preferred but not required); or equivalent experience required\n\nSoftware development process expert in applicable methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).\n\nExpertise in industry technology language development trends.\n\nExpertise in data engineering and maintenance including techniques for applying best practices for overall project benefit.\n\nProven expertise in the use and development of applicable desktop tool sets.\n\nProven expert in partnering and leading internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.\n\nStrong interpersonal skills.\n\nSolid knowledge of architectural principles.\n\nAbility to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.\n\nExcellent proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques.\n\nExpertise in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, .Net., HPCC.\n\nU.S. National Base Pay Range: $104,900 - $174,700.
