Through innovation in editorial workflows and publishing technology, we help global research communities discover, evaluate, and disseminate knowledge that advances science and improves lives.\nAbout the Role\nSSRN is Elsevier’s preprint server, working with over 1,200 Elsevier journals to offer submitting authors the option to preprint their research. As part of our growing medical preprints operation, you will help ensure the efficient management of medical submission queues, maintain high standards of research integrity, and support compliance with evolving funder and editorial requirements. You will also contribute reporting, analysis, and projects that promote excellence in preprinting across the medical and life sciences disciplines.\nResponsibilities\nLiaise with other Content Editors to ensure the smooth running of the medical queues such that turnaround times are met\nPrevent the posting of medical preprints that may cause harm and ensure that appropriate ethics, funding and COIs are provided\nWork with journal partners such as Preprints with The Lancet to support their editorial policies as well as working on any reporting and/or projects\nLiaise with the Policy and Partnerships Manager over funders and their policies and provide reporting on Gates Foundation preprints as well as those from other funders\nLiaise with the Research Integrity Manager over submissions or submitters that pose a reputational risk for Elsevier and SSRN\nLiaise with the Production and Product teams over changes in policies and approaches for identifying bad content in the medical and life science disciplines\nDeliver reporting on growth within the medical preprints area\nContribute to projects that promote excellence in preprinting\nRequirements\nBackground in life sciences or a similar discipline; editorial or publishing experience is valued\nExperience working on medical preprints or within scholarly publishing, with familiarity with reporting standards for medical papers\nSelf-starter who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team\nAble to understand and advocate for the needs of authors and readers\nStrong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills\nAbility to work methodically with excellent problem-solving and fact-checking skills\nExperience handling sensitive content and applying research integrity principles\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nWork in a Way That Works for You\nWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
