Working closely with the Product team, you’ll translate scientific questions into software features and workflows, using AI Assistants to support and accelerate development. The role calls for technical creativity and familiarity with AI-assisted software engineering paradigms.\nYou will work in a global environment, collaborating with colleagues across continents, and leveraging the latest AI-powered development tools.\nKey Responsibilities:\nBridge chemistry, cheminformatics and software engineering, translating scientific questions into molecular data representations, software features and computational workflows.\nDesign and develop scalable, maintainable and production-quality software.\nApply cheminformatics methods to molecular data, including molecular representations and chemical data validation.\nCollaborate with chemists, data scientists, Product and engineering teams to define requirements and evaluate computational results.\nArchitect and develop distributed software systems.\nWork with cheminformatics tools and libraries such as RDKit or ChemAxon.\nUse modern AI-assisted development tools to support and accelerate software engineering.\nRequired Qualifications:\nAcademic background in Cheminformatics, Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline.\nRelevant professional experience combining cheminformatics with software or technology development.\nExperience working with molecular data, chemical representations and data validation.\nStrong programming skills in Java and/or Python.\nExperience developing maintainable, production-quality software and an understanding of distributed systems.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate scientific requirements into technical solutions.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international, multidisciplinary environment.\nBenefits:\nHybrid working with flexibility between office and home\nWork in an international and collaborative environment\nOpportunity to work on products with real impact on scientific research and discovery\nAccess to modern technologies and AI-assisted development tools\nOpportunities for continuous learning and professional development\nCollaboration with experts across chemistry, data science, product and software engineering\nBe part of Elsevier, a global organization supporting researchers and healthcare professionals worldwide\nWhy Join Us?\nThis is an opportunity to combine software engineering with real scientific impact.
