Vice President, Product Marketing - Clinical Solutions
Are you energized by the challenge of unifying enterprise B2B demand generation and direct-to-user B2C growth into one integrated strategy that drives measurable impact?
Do you want the opportunity to build and scale a global demand and growth organization, shaping the team, systems, and strategy that connect healthcare professionals, students, institutions, and health systems worldwide?
About our Team:
At Elsevier Clinical Solutions, we are redefining how clinicians learn, decide, and deliver care. Our portfolio spans Clinical Decision Support, Competency Management, and Patient Engagement-impacting millions of healthcare decisions globally.
About the role:
This VP will own product marketing strategy for the Clinical Solutions segment from product positioning through to sales enablement and customer evidence. You bring the rigor of a best-in-class product marketer - positioning grounded in customer evidence, impact measured against business outcomes, and the cross-functional operating skills to execute.
This is not a communications or content role. It is a strategic marketing leadership position for someone who understands how clinical tools are bought, adopted, and renewed inside health systems - and who knows how to build a marketing motion around that buying journey. The role reports into the Chief Marketing Officer, Elsevier Health. The role sits on the Marketing Leadership team & on the Clinical Solutions Leadership team.
Responsibilities:
- Own positioning, messaging, and product marketing strategy for the full Clinical Solutions portfolio - both existing products and new launches. Products span Clinical Decision Support, Nurse Readiness, Patient Engagement and Specialty Solutions.
- Build deep market intelligence on the clinical solutions landscape, emerging care delivery models, and competitive positioning across key product categories.
- Define distinct value propositions for institutional buyers (health systems, hospitals, IDNs) and clinical end users - including nurses, physicians, and care teams.
- Lead a team of product marketers aligned to key product lines; establish launch processes and field enablement standards.
- Partner with Clinical Solutions BU leadership on roadmap input, launch readiness, and commercial strategy - bringing the buyer's and clinician's voice into product decisions.
- Define and report on the portfolio's marketing-influenced metrics: adoption, renewal, expansion, and clinical engagement.
- Develop a narrative for Elsevier Clinical Solutions that is compelling to health system executives, clinical educators, and frontline care teams simultaneously.
- Partner across the marketing organization to build and launch data-driven, customer-insight led marketing programs.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of product marketing experience, including at least 3 in a senior leadership role with direct reports.
- Deep familiarity with enterprise B2B buying cycles in healthcare, health IT, or life sciences - you understand what it takes to sell into health systems, IDNs, or academic medical centers.
- Proven track record of building positioning that wins: you have launched products, displaced incumbents, and built compelling narratives that sales teams use.
- Exceptional written storytelling; able to craft a narrative that resonates with Chief Medical Officers and a clinician, simultaneously.
- Experience building sales and customer success enablement toolkits: pitch decks, case studies, and competitive battle cards.
- Strong cross-functional operating instincts - you know how to work with Product, Sales, and Customer Success without losing the thread of what the market needs.
- Fluency with clinical decision support, EHR ecosystems, or point-of-care tools.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to translate clinical nuance into commercial clarity.
- Experience building and scaling a product marketing function, not just inheriting one.
- Prior experience at a clinical decision support company (UpToDate/Wolters Kluwer, DynaMed, Micromedex, or AI-native peers such as OpenEvidence).
- Understanding of how AI is reshaping clinical workflows and what that means for incumbent content players.
- Experience with US and international markets.
