The Automation Engineer is responsible for the lead role in design, development, and implementation of our customers’ automation systems during capital projects. The Automation Engineer will be a significant contributor and often the lead technical resource on customer projects. The Automation Engineer will deliver quality solutions and services to customers using the technologies provided by DeltaV, Asset Management Systems (AMS) and other Emerson solutions.\nThe Automation Engineer will have close interaction with project management and account management to ensure that the project is delivered within the schedule and budget and with the high level of quality expected by our customers. Additionally, the Automation Engineer will provide mentoring and leadership to other engineers assigned to projects.\nThe Automation Engineer will also be expected to provide support to sales, generate estimates and proposals, and contribute to operations and project management functions.\nSpecific Responsibilities \nLead and work in a project team to meet schedule and budget\nMonitor project scope and identify and evaluate potential deviations\nDesign and implement process control strategies\nImplement control strategies within the DeltaV DCS that are used to interface with and control physical devices such as valves and pumps within the plant environment. This will include:Configuring and testing control and equipment modules classes and instances\nConfiguring and testing batch control strategies including phase classes and recipes\nConfiguring custom dynamos, graphic displays, and trends\n\nDevelop system design documentation for a variety of continuous and batch process control applications\nSupport Factory Acceptance Tests (“FAT”s) / Software Acceptance Tests (“SAT”s)\nSupport start-up and commissioning activities at customer sites\nTroubleshoot system hardware, software, network, and instrument bus technologies\nConfigure and commission wireless field networks\nConfigure DeltaV Continuous Historian and integration to 3rd party Historians such as OSI PI\nDevelop custom shift, environmental, or production reports for plant maintenance and operations personnel\nConfigure process modeling & simulation (using both Mynah MiMic software & DeltaV)\nWork independently on-site at a customer location\nRequired Competencies\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work in team environment; a team player\nSelf-directed, self-motivated, and detail oriented\nCustomer focused\nOrganized and reliable; Demonstrates integrity\nBe a United States Citizen with a valid driver’s license.\nRequired Education and Experience\nB.S. in CHE, EE, ME, Comp. Eng, Comp.
