Associates in this role have opportunities for long-term career advancement and increased compensation growth as skills and experience develop.\nAdditional overtime opportunities may also be available based on customer demand and business needs.\nSpecific Responsibilities\nEvaluate and repair control, safety, relief, gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly and plug valves.\nEvaluate and repair pneumatic, hydraulic and electric actuators.\nWork is performed at R.E. Mason authorized repair facilities and customer locations and includes;Pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, surface preparation, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuators.\nCalibration and testing of valves, related instruments and process instrumentation.\nAssembly of new and repaired equipment.\nDocument repair, testing and assembly activities - cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, etc.\n\nCustomer communication - technical assistance, troubleshooting and determining disposition of repairs.\nAdherence to all safety, quality and company rules/regulations.\nMaintain excellent housekeeping standards.\nParticipation and involvement in Safety, Quality and Activities Committees.\nExecute work in adherence to the guidelines stated under a National Board VR/UV program.\nReference appropriate technical sources.\nComplete site specific safety requirements.\nMaintain driver eligibility.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequired Competencies\nExcellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal and customer relations skills - exhibit an ability to effectively communicate with plant personnel.\nTime Management Skills\nTeamwork\nFunctional/Technical Skills\nMechanical Ability/Aptitude\nProblem Solving\nTroubleshooting\nAbility to stay task focused\nMust be able to work off hours, weekends, and OT on a short notice basis based on business needs\nKnowledge of rigging, lifting and moving heavy and awkward products.\nAble to work in abnormal (heat/cold/clean room) operating conditions.\nMust to able operate repair equipment namely; overhead cranes, forklifts, sand blasters, seat facing machines, lift assist devices and power tools.\nDesire to learn and expand technical trade-related skills.\nRequired Education and Experience\nHigh school diploma\nBasic computer skills\nPreferred Experience/Competencies\nExperience in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant environment\n3+ years of valve-related experience or nuclear/regulated industry experience\nPhysical Requirements:\nStanding - long periods of time\nWalking - long periods of time\nSitting\nKneeling - long periods of time\nReaching Overhead\nClimbing\nPushing and Pulling\nUse of hand tools and power tools\nLifting - 50 Pounds\nDriving\nRE Mason Company is a federal contractor and, as such, is required to solicit the disability status and protected veteran status of candidates.
