Ensures all procedures are followed correctly. Performs quality assurance checks and transports as required to insure efficient and safe process flow. Follows oral and written instructions, wears protective equipment where and when directed and obeys all plant and safety rules and regulations. Supports the facility’s mission, safety and ISO goas and directives and is an active participant of the Remington Team.\nPrincipal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)\nOnly qualified personnel shall conduct remelt operations. Operators must be trained in all operation and safety aspects of this job. Operators shall be considered trained once this document has been reviewed and record of training has been signed.\nScrap lead from CF, SS, and RF is trucked to the remelt building via transport truck in large red scrap totes and barrels by the truck driver.\nThe operator shall inspect containers of remelt lead for contaminants that could cause potential fires. Containers of contaminated remelt lead shall not be dumped into the remelt pots until contents have been removed.\nNote: Contaminants could include trash, plastic, rags, gloves, grease, etc.\nContainers of contaminated lead with live rounds (RF or SS) should not be processed. These containers should be returned to the respective department so that all loaded rounds can be removed.\nBarrels of wire which contain liquid contaminants needs to be drained and allowed (1-3 days) to dry before attempting to process in the system.\nThe operator loads wire, billets, ingots, and small material in totes or barrels onto the conveyor belt in small portions.\nOperator conveys enough scrap to completely fill the pot.\nOnce the lead has been melted, the dross contaminants on the top are skimmed off with the dross dipper.\nThe lead is then pumped into the pig molds.\nAfter the molds cool and harden, the lead pigs are dumped out and stacked where they are easily moved by forklift.\nThe stacked pigs are then weighed on the floor scale, weight transaction completed, and then located in the proper storage location until needed by CF production.\nThe operator is responsible for changing the lead pump, drowsing the pot, or anything else pertinent to maintain the complete building system as required.\n*NOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive. Overtime, including working extended shift hours and/or during scheduled days off, may be required.\nEducational Skills and Experience\nHigh School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent\nAbility to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following: o Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision o Read and comprehend process instructions o Record pertinent process information as required\nMust possess basic personal computer skills sufficient enough to navigate menus and select, open and print documents. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection to be worn in the work area. Physical Demands\nVision correctable to 20/20 with normal depth perception and peripheral vision\nAbility to repeatedly lift and move up to 25 lbs. unaided\nAbility to push a loaded production buggy weighing as much as 1,000 lbs.\nAbility to stand or sit for up to 3 hours at a time\nAbility to occasionally kneel, crouch, bend or extend reach as required to perform tasks\nAbility to ascend and descend stairs\nAbility to grasp and feel small parts\nAbility to handle metal plates of small components and precisely place plates for assembly in automated equipment.
